okay, i can't handle watching Fox News. they are so stupid and Bill O'REilly is the biggest jackass i have ever heard/seen. How can he state that a VP can be "tutored"? Okay, a beauty pageant contestant can be tutored if that's what they need, but if a VP candidate doesn't know that Africa is a continent, then that person is not even close i mean is lighyears away from ever being qualified...is that what 47 million americans think? that Sarah could just be "tutored"? wow, just wow. thank you Lord Jesus that Obama/Biden won and that 47 million Americans who voted for McCain/Palin did not. Curiosity and open minds are powerful things and lead to true solutions and governance. The GOP lacks it because they somehow disdain intellect and open minds, aka the "Elite". whatever. I grew up in a small town but I have studied abroad, learned a foreign language (fluently), and know history, philosophy, political history, etc. Small towns shouldn't mean ignorant runts like the GOP makes it out to be.
I am a REAL effin American just like our Forefathers...intelligent, intellectual, open to other cultures, I have studied philosophy, history, political theory, and many other disciplines.

The fact that Sarah Palin even needs to be 'tutored' in such subjects as basic geography and civics is very sad indeed and speaks volumes about the quality of America's public schools. Instead of pouring tax money into bullshit wars and pork barrel fluff, can we please acknowledge that the very foundation of our citizens' education is CRAP??? The average American child cannot fill in a map of the USA with the names of states, never mind the map of the world. Canadians, for God's sake, can do all that. My husband is Canadian and he knows more about our history than I do. We gotta fix this.

As tempting as it is to make fun of the losers, I agree we need to be more forward looking. We going into the crapper and we could probably avoid it if we focus. Big ideas, smart people, lots and lots of resources to throw at virtually any good idea. Come on, we can do it.
Big ideas? Lets start a crude oil bank (BOIL). We hire people to build storage tanks and distribute it while continually selling the oil for less on the market than the big companies who will be unable to fulfill what minimal demand there will be. It seems like it's getting cheaper and cheaper. what the hell?
Hey I have an idea. What if we were to convince the big companies that it's in their own best interest to be in on providing something of value in a more efficient/economical way so that people can comprehend the value of what it is their' buying? It's a transparency thing. It's a trust thing. It's a confidence thing. It's something~!

I saw the Rangel hatchet job on Palin. Her message was that, with respect to God being on our side -- we should pray that we are on God's side. (Like Lincoln, but not quite quoting him.)
But in her phraseology: A > B & C, if you leave off the A and just quote B & C, it can sound wrong, even bad. That is unfair and, deliberately, out of context.
Even if it's true that "B & C" are your own words -- the meaning can be twisted.

She was smart enough to not promise, in a prepared and written speech, that "Jerusalem would be undivided" -- and then have her staff issue a correction the next day that the status of Jerusalem was for negotiation. Of course, she also didn't get standing ovation applause for such false statement. Or was Obama just ignorant then?
