Here's your next president, during his first interview.

For the doubters here, and the 48% who went to the ballot box not understanding what was possible, take another look.

Challenge your hate and your doubts. Challenge Roger Ailes and Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, who led us into this mess while enriching themselves. And for a moment, give the guy a chance.

If you live in America, or are dependent on America in any way for your income or your retirement or your personal safety, you need Obama to be successful.

So give the guy a chance.

After what the vast majority of us would agree was the worst and most destructive presidency in the history of the United States, let's see what Obama can do.

Yes, even you Frank.

Give the guy a chance.

I think he'll surprise you.

Oh shutup Keith. We've sent you plenty of links to detailed info that clearly shows that Obama is just another piece of establishment, socialist trash.

Why do you assume that those of us who are not Obama Kool-aid drinkers need to challenge Limbaugh and Hannity and the rest of the fake conservative hate machine?

Is it impossible in your mind to be anything but pro-Democrat or pro-Republican?

I have lost a lot of faith in you Keith. I really thought you were more intelligent than this but you appear to be devolving before our very eyes.

PS - All of these grand social experiments you are rallying for are not only infeasible they are also completely immoral. Just like any other arrogant demogogue you think the state has the right to funnel trillions of taxpayer dollars either via direct or indirect inflation taxation to promote the general welfare. You arrogantly assume that you know best and that you and your ilk have a right to "stimulate the economy" and promote "clean energy" and "reach for the stars to Mars". You are ridiculous.

Do you ever bother to stop to think where that money comes from and what effect that has on the most vulnerable in society? ie, the poor?

You and your Obamarama zombie hordes need to take a long walk off a short pier. Follow your pied piper to the ends of the Earth and burn in hell.

But you know that republicans can't do that. They are destructive, ignorant creatures. I wish I could say I was just being dramatic but I'm not.

You just know that republicans are looking for anything they can find to throw at Obama. Something, anything that will shut him down. A woman, a business deal, some transaction they can harp on like Whitewater. They don't care if the ship goes down, they're not letting anyone right it. They failed miserably in running the country and will not allow anyone else to have any success in fixing the problems. That's why they filibustered everything the democrats tried to do in the last 2 years.

Obama needs to steamroll them. Forget bi-partisanship. Republicans aren't capable. The only good thing about the crisis getting worse is that it will allow an Obama adminstration to roll right over them like Roosevelt did in his time.

Obama Positions Himself to Quickly Reverse Bush Actions on Environmental, Social Issues

By Ceci Connolly and R. Jeffrey Smith
Washington Post Staff Writers
Sunday, November 9, 2008

Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse the president on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides and experts working with the transition team.

A team of four dozen advisers, working for months in virtual solitude, set out to identify regulatory and policy changes Obama could implement soon after his inauguration. The team is now consulting with liberal advocacy groups, Capitol Hill staffers and potential agency chiefs to prioritize those they regard as the most onerous or ideologically offensive, said a top transition official who was not permitted to speak on the record about the inner workings of the transition.

The first letter proves my point completely. The brainstems that inhabit the swamp of conservatism won't entertain the idea of supporting Obama in any way, shape or form. They'll throw tantrums for the whole 8 years.

They're like rabid dogs that you can only control by destroying.

Five areas I'm against Obama:

1) Windfall tax on oil companies - stupid idea. Would have been tempting when oil was at $150 and exxon etc were minting money. Now their stocks have collapsed, and we'll need them to spend their cash pile on new exploration and refining. If we steal their cash or impact their potential to make money, supply will suffer and gas prices will skyrocket. Stupid idea.

2) Russia. Obama stupidly blamed Russia for stopping Georgia from slaughtering its people. Georgia was at fault, period. And Obama has so far been wrong on the arrogant missile shield plans Bush has for eastern europe. That shield is a big cold war FU to Russian, and to maintain geopoltical balance we need to stop that program now.

3) Gay marriage. Our constitution requires equal treatment under the law, and banning gays from marrying (with all the government and tax benefits that come from that) is the exact same as banning blacks and whites from marrying. It's unconstitutional, period. The government should be out of the "marriage" business - that's for private religions to decide. The government must adopt a nationwide civil union protocol that covers any consenting adult equally.

4) Immigration. The solution is to protect our borders and send every illegal home. If they want to come to America and work, get in line, apply, be processed and come legally. We should open the country up to mass legal immigration. This illegal crap must end.

5) Taxes. I favor getting rid of the income tax entirely and going with a national sales tax or VAT. It's time for strippers and bartenders and realtors and CEOs to all pay taxes. And it's time for tax accountants to find new work. Think of the efficiencies if we eliminate the income tax. Think of how warped and unproductive our current tax code is. It's shameful. Time to start over.

Keith, you do realize that Obama appointed a radical jewish extremist as his cheif of staff, right? You do know that Biden is a self professed zionist, right?

When it comes to leading our American sons and daughters to slaughter for the satanic state of israel, do you think this administration will be any different?

I literally choked on my egg sandwich when reading your five areas you are against your hero on so let me get this right you go out and pitch this left of center person he gets elected solely on the votes of the white investor class independents and now that he is the President you disagree with him on the very programs he is for his party is for and the lunatics on the far left are for so like I said in my previous posts it is going to be fun watching you spin his agenda positively with a straight face even though I can't see your face but I will picture it anyway and the 2010 elections will be the continuation of the 2004 elections and you forgot to mention Bush.

Would you like me to list the 100 things I was against McCain/Palin(Idiot)?

That was an unacceptable ticket.

Period.

Problem with a two party system - you'll never have a candidate you support 100%. You're lucky if you can get to 60%

But Fox News watching far right GOP supporters will never understand this. They just nod their heads no matter what their party or party's candidate says.

Bush proved this. The worst president in the history of the United States, and still 20% of Americans still support him. And 46% of Americans still voted for his party.

Keith. Who is going to collect the tax at the point of sale?

Who is going to fill out the forms?

Who is going to send it in to what government agency?

What consumers are going to try to find loopholes or con merchants into not paying it?

Who will collect the tax on imports mailed directly to consumers?

Who will audit inventories to be sure merchants aren't skimming?

I'll tell you who. MERCHANTS THAT SELL TAXABLE GOODS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COLLECTING AND KEEPING THE BOOKS FOR AMERICAS TAXES.

THE NEW AND IMPROVED ALL POWERFUL AMERICAN TAX AGENCY WILL BE IN CHARGE OF ENFORCEMENT.

UNDERGROUND AND BARTER ECONOMY WILL GROW.

CHARGING TAX ON SALES DISCOURAGES AND PUNISHES SALES.

THE ONLY REASON FOR A GOVERNMENT USING FIAT CURRENCY TO TAX ITS PEOPLE IS TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE CITIZENS ARE FINANCIALLY CONTROLLED AND KEPT IN A VOLUNTARY SLAVE STATE.

Keith, your a very confused individual.
Again...A Ron Paul supporter who turns around and laps up the Obama kool-aid. Incredible.

How can you go from fiscal responsibility, anti-Fed, anti-corrupt politicians, etc etc to being a socialist apologizer.

"Give Obama a chance.." - you have GOT to be kidding ALL of us that read your blog. No way man. Not in a million years.

And something very, very strange is happening with Hannity, Limbaugh, et al....they are all, all of a sudden 'Americans' and preaching that we 'must get along, and face our problems together.' WRONG!!!!

When Obama permits Israel to bomb (dare say...NUKE) Iran and then internationally PROTECTS Israel for a WAR CRIME...then what will you do? Change? WHAT CHANGE?! Just hue tone change of the man that occupies the White House.

I'd gloat, but unfortunately, we're ALL stuck with this 'change' and we're ALL going to suffer for it as well. Just as we ALL have suffered thanks to Bush.

Oh lookie! New kool-aid punch bowl arrived! Want another cup?

Here are some better articles on what Obama really represents:

Here's a little hint: he doesn't represent you or I or any of his Obamarama hordes of low grade "feel good positivity" morons.

Hmmm...is Rahm Emmanuel the Israel-friendly power figure to counteract the long-perceived Arab-friendly leanings of Obama? Or is it the other way around? Which way is the administration really leaning?

Obama is the next Stalin, installed by the liberal MSM. Look how his supporters venomously defend him. From Bush weakness to Obama destructionism, extremist politics is leading America to doom.

Give it a rest gunslinger. What gave him the office was mismanagement of the country by the republicans. That tired old "liberal media" thing is bogus. Was that the media who was sleeping when republicans won elections for years or did they go liberal in 2008?

We defend Obama because we know what you bottom feeders are going to try and do. You're going to try and tie him up like you did Clinton. Republicans won't get away with it this time.

One could only hope he'd be as ruthless as Stalin but alas, he probably won't be.

happyliberal, what kind of ruthless Stalinist policies are you hoping for from Obama? Just curious.

Let the new tax increases across the board begin to pay for all these Alice in Wonderland, everything is free entitlements. Oh, I noticed that Paul Volcker was next to Obama on his first meeting with the press. I can't wait for 21% interest rates in two years. Unlike Clinton who kept easy Al Greenspan, Obama likes Volcker. Volcker can't wait to prove Greenspan wrong. Yes man Bernanke will go along or he is out.

keith,

i tried to keep this short but couldn't.

you're a smart guy...i can tell you are. but i think you're drinking the left's kool-aid. you seem to think that obama - "the one" - is a messiah who will deliver peace upon the world and make everyone equal. gee, where have i heard that sort of thing before and how many times have i heard it? i would need a calculator for that!

allow me to disabuse you of your religious faith in obama and socialism.

obama is nothing more than another socialist demagogue, like so many that have come before him in other countries going back ages.

he -- and his retinue -- have a self-inflated sense of who he is and what he should and can do. he is nothing more than a centralist who will impose -- unconstitutionally -- his will upon america. he will use the "force" of law and intimidation (the threat of judical action) to make people do what he wants.

already there is a crisis brewing. on his website, prior to today, he said he would "force" all middle and high school kids to be part of his nazi-like "civilian corps". again, FORCE them. he used the word "required" in this policy statement. because that word caused such an uproar in the blogosphere, he had it changed today to something like "encourage". right. some of us now know what's in store for america's kids.

the true nature of obama, and all socialists, really centers around the need for control...the control of others. this of course always leads to tyranny. unfortunately, most people on the left don't even see the virulent strain of tyranny that embodies their political and social philosophy.

you are a smart guy who nailed it 95% on the housing crises (you refused to assign any blame to orgs. like Acorn so you don't get 100%). you seem to have an open mind about certain things...at least i see flashes of it. but you are still in the far-left camp. you really need to understand the danger the far-left (socialists like obama) pose to our federal republic.

i would suggest you (and others on the left) read the Federalist Papers as well as the anti-Federalist Papers, which perhaps are even more important than the former. you should also read hayek's "The Road to Serfdom", re-read Animal Farm, 1984 and Brave New World, read friedman's "Free to Choose", and of course, all of Rand's novels.

lastly you should read the writings of John Locke (Two Treatises of Government), John Stuart Mill (both On Liberty as well as Utilitarianism), and Adam Smith (Wealth of Nations). in most of these writings you will find where the libertarian and independent mind comes from. at least they did for me.

i guarantee you that obama has not read any of these books, with the exception of those by huxley and orwell. unfortunately, he was attracted to the novels' antagonists rather than to their protagonists...

...and that's why he's so dangerous.

"One could only hope he'd be as ruthless as Stalin but alas, he probably won't be."

True. If Obama is going to accomplish anything, he'll need to take more than a few bold strokes, including some things the rest of the party won't like. We will see pretty early on if he has that in him or not.

I look forward to commenting on his upcoming cabinet appointments and what he actually does or doesn't do once he's in office. All this speculation on whether he's a elitist ultraliberal Muslim socialist or an illegal alien Zionist BlackPanther terrorist is driving me up the wall.

I was thinking something along the lines of work camps in the desert for republicans but perhaps that's too harsh.

A simple demonization of conservatives and a call for some harsh punishment will be fine, thanks.

As we sink lower into the abyss of financial calamity, that scenario becomes more likely.

If the shoe were on the other foot and democrats had brought us to the brink of financial collapse, republicans would not be even that charitable. They demonized liberals for providing the masses with a good life and lots of opportunity, exploiting their greed and selfishness brought on by being spoiled from years of progressive policies. Too bad it backfired and the middle class "reagan democrats" ended up with the shit end of the stick. From high-paid union wages to folding clothes next to their wives at WalMart for $5.45 an hour. F*ck em'.

Imagine what a charismatic leader could convince people to do to republicans for creating The Great Depression II. I tingle with anticipation to find out what.

I've had it,

I do hope you're right about the dangers of Obama's leadership. Once can only hope that "angry black man" Obama emerges on Jan. 21st and begins a campaign of retribution against republicans.

I want Obama to succeed. I do. I really do. For entirely selfish reasons. I want my business to continue to prosper. I want to continue living well in Newport Beach and having excess money to save and invest. I don't want to give this all up to move somewhere cheaper.

But....

I honestly believe we've elected the most incompetent, unqualified president in American history.

We have someone who was "elected" to state senate by using lawyers to throw his opponents off the ballot so he could run unopposed, then he was elected to US Senate and showed up for a whopping 90 or so days, voting "present" the entire time, and then immediately ran for president.

He has made so many campaign promises that even Jesus couldn't accomplish them all. This will lead to his own supporters turning on him and a huge media backlash.

Yes, I want him to succeed so I can continue to prosper and enjoy the good life. But I just don't see it happening.

Granted, chances are anyone stepping into the White House right now is probably bound to fail due to circumstances (McCain included). But seriously, I think we've picked the worst possible choice at a very, very precarious time in our history.

This is where I'm with you 100%. Hell, even I would have voted for Obama if he were a FairTax guy. Not only is the current tax code completely unfair but it wastes BILLIONS every year in lost productivity due to compliance. The amount of time I waste on tax issues is obscene and would be better spent running my business or enjoying leisure activities. You really need to own a business to understand the level of government intrusiveness and time-wasting.

devestment, FairTax is easy to implement, every retail business is already collecting sales tax. The infrastructure is already there. It's a no-brainer. A few software changes to cash registers and internet shopping carts and it's done.

happyliberal, work camps for republicans wouldn't change a thing. We are already the only people working while liberals sit back and game the system to get their handouts at our expense.

Anonymous said...

Yeah Frank, that must be Warren Buffet and Colin Powell's reasons for supporting Obama. They're just lazy liberals gaming the system.

If your people as well as the free-market system hadn't failed so miserably, your side might not have lost EVERYTHING this last election. But conservative arrogant self-delusion is even more powerful than their incompetence. They haven't yet been able to put their performance in office together with their resultant losses.
