Hillary gets State. Bill Richardson Commerce. Napolitano at Homeland. Tim Geithner gets the Treasury mess.

Anyone want to bet how long Hillary lasts? You know, until Bill blows the whole thing for her. And when Obama tells her to go meet with Ahmadinejad and get us out of Iraq, will she listen?

Geithner is one of the dolts who got us into this mess, so I'm not sure why the market loved that one so much. Seems like an academic to me, when we need a fighter. Bloomberg would have been best. Oh well.

Richardson at Commerce is OK, but a bit uninspiring. Just keeping him engaged until Hillary is pushed out I guess.

And I do like Napolitano at Homeland Security. I've seen her speak a couple of times - she's tough, smart, fair, competent and likable. And a possible presidential candidate in 2016 - if she gets married (to a man).

Oh, hope you like the logo.

I know Obama is trying to create that Lincoln "cabinent of rivals" thing. But, I'm afraid he might be trying to be too cute by half. It's like McCain's calculations about Palin. Inside the beltway, these politicians lose touch and worry about pleasing their "base". Outside, the beltway, which is everyone, no one cares. If Hillary had massive foreign policy swagger, she might have been worth it, but now the Clintons will add a constant and unnecessary level of drama, distraction and wierdness. Change does not mean Clinton 2.0. Should have gone straight with Richardson or come to think of it in this age of instant communications, does it all really matter, Obama can just send a text to Putin and write, "We're good, baby."

Do something...even if it's wrong is my motto. Announcing Geithner saved the market's ass today.

Monday will be a different story.

Citigroup will be taken over by the government this weekend.

The rest of the financial "dream team" will fall far short of the market's expectations and short sellers will get while the gettin's good.

So this is "Change" huh? "Change" we can believe in. Yes We Can!

and, the American people are about to astounded at the final abuse of power by WORST, MOST DESTRUCTIVE AND WRONG PRESIDENT IN HISTORY, the Doomed, shamed and patently stupid George W. Bushco.

Here is my useless and weak-kneed sister full on liberal democratic Senator (which will be voted out of her long-time office in an Obama-like landslide) response to a letter concerning Bushco's shameless and illegal inevitable pardons of his felonious crew of sychophants that are directrly responsible for murdering your children and your financial future.

Read it and weep.

Dear Mr. X

Thank you for your letter concerning impeachment proceedings against President George W. Bush and his authority to grant pardons. I appreciate the time you took to write and welcome the opportunity to respond.

I believe we are at a point in time where partisan politics and divisions within our country must come to an end. Our financial institutions are suffering. Our economy is in crisis and we are also at war in the Middle East. I believe that impeachment proceedings against President Bush will only divide the country even further, frustrating our hopes for a meaningful change in direction, while having little chance of success.

The election of Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) as President has started a new chapter in our history, and the President-elect has said that he wants to heal the divisions in this nation and create a sense of unity. Although I have been deeply disappointed and outspoken by many of the Bush Administration's actions, it is time to focus on constructive and cooperative steps that would lead our country in the right direction.

Please know that I read and understand your concern about potential abuse of presidential pardons by President Bush. Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution gives the president "Power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment." A reprieve reduces the severity of a punishment without removing the guilt of the person reprieved. A pardon removes both punishment and guilt.

Most judicial scholars interpret the President's power to grant reprieves and pardons as absolute. Individual reprieves and pardons cannot be blocked by Congress or the courts. The Framers of the Constitution envisioned the pardon power as having a narrow purpose. It is my hope that President Bush will use his Constitutional authority wisely.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to write me. I hope you will continue to keep in touch with me on issues of importance to you. If you have any questions or comments, please call my Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-3841. Best regards.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

CENSURE BUSHCO and the recently indicted Cheneyburton TODAY. Stop the monster from pardoning his accomplices.

I don’t get it. The Change we should believe in voted for Obama so he can get all the clintonites in his cabinet as well as Hillary for Secretary of State? Why did’nt the democrats just nonimate Hillary and vote for her. It sure would have saved them a lot of money.

I thought Obama was going to bring us change. All I see is a bunch of old stale Clintonians warmed over

How do you solve a credit crisis with more credit?

How do you boost employment in an economy that is shrinking due to dwindling artificial demand?

How long does it take a person who has lost their home and gone bankrupt to recover? Is this person expected to jump back into the market?

If California solves their budget crisis by tripling auto registrations will it have an impact on fixed incomes? Could it cause the market to be flooded with used cars making it imprudent to buy new ones with the bail out funding?

Why did President Bush extend unemployment benefits through the end of his administration?

What will helicopter Ben do now that he has lost his job?

How do you save an economy with a Fed chair that helped cause the Japan 10 year crisis?

We're on the same track Keith.

The Hillary meltdown on the campaign trail was straight out of Shakespeare. Will Hillary be able to stay within the lines and follow Obama's lead? I'm thinking, two years in and she gets yanked.

Hope I'm wrong, but this Hillary story has the arc of Hamlet in it, with all the modern day gin and juice.

Maybe Obama is doing this so the press will be distracted while he works on all the other stuff.

All great leaders have known how to use the sleight of hand and distraction techniques.

Nobody but the big people have any idea why any of this is going on. No suprize there. But you can be sure it will be effective-----FOR THEM!

Geithner at Treasury shows we're in for more of the same.
Robert Shiller made it obvious he was fired by Geithner from his advisory role at the New York Fed for daring to suggest there was a housing bubble.
How we can expect the guilty parties to fix up their own mess is beyond my understanding.
How about using Shiller, Roubini, Schiff etc. The people that got it right are still largely ignored.
(Yes -I'm aware of Schiff's performance this year. It is surprising he doesn't hedge his forex exposure but lets wait to see who wins here.)

Did anyone seriously expect Obama (or McCain for that matter) to stop the bailouts? I'd like to hear that State of the Union: "We're in for a decade-long depression, my fellow americans, but there's nothing I can do about it so suck it up."

I am sorry I voted for Obama. He suckered all of us into making us think he'd bring change.

Nice logo Keith. I'm starting to feel disappointed in all these clinton retreads being appointed. Why oh why would he put Hillary on his team?

Isn't it obvious that Hillary's nomination for Secretary of State isn't really news?

During the campaign for the Democratic nominee, when Clinton was finally shown the numbers which convinced her that she would lose in the presidential race, in order to make her shut up and lay low, she was promised this position.

Putting Janet Nappylotaxo as Homeland Chief is sheer stupidity.

She ran the state of Arizona into the ground and created a Billion dollar plus deficit.

I will jump for joy if Janet leaves Arizona but..... Homeland Security? DUH, what a bad choice.
This is the Open Borders Pariah we have had to live with. She thwarted every effort by the Legislature to implement State Security on the Arizona Border. She vetoed every effort and legislation written that would have made a real difference in stopping the invasion. Janet has roiled against Federal immigration policies for years and has put the blame on the Feds for Arizona's woes. Now she will be the one that the Nation will be screaming at.

She ran for Governor on the platform of “Doing absolutely nothing” and won. That is what she will do in her new post too.
This is the whack job Leftist who put National Guard Troops on the Border to answer telephones and do clerical work and took away their weapons.
This is the dimwit that would tear down the fence because if you build a 50 ft wall, they will build a 51 ft ladder.
This is the twit who backs Gordon, Harris and the other flying monkeys that keep our state the main route for invaders and drugs coming into the country.
What in hell will she do as the head of Homeland Security except make us all less secure?
The worst of the worst possible choice to head up this important post.
Obama must be smoking dope, but now its going to flow more freely along with millions of invaders getting citizenship and more freebies on the backs of hard working already taxed to death citizens.
Dumb... really stupid.
But hey, if she leaves Arizona, I will be ecstatic. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Please people... we have Clintonites because they have experience. Maybe they're entrenched in politics, but at least it's better than Bush appointing totally unqualified and inept cronies. If Obama went and got totally new, untried people we'd be saying "What a lack of judgement, look at those terrible appointments!". He can't win.

Hillary Clinton, despite all the hype, is experienced and effective... and also flexible. The media gives her way too much coverage to try to dig up a story where there really is none. Years ago I caught her on CSPAN actually at work in the senate and she was very effective.

Yes, she has her own history and interests in mind, but she's also intelligent, well-balanced, and connected, all things that will serve her well at her post. With her connections comes Bill and the media circus. However, despite the hype, she'll adjust to helping Obama - her positions are not set in stone. Anybody ever consider that perhaps the only reason she advocated a middle road on Iraq might have been to attract moderates and Republicans to support her? In politics, once an opinion is voiced it is very hard to recant. Her personal opinions could be very well concealed, and she might agree with Obama more than we realize. We shouldn't be completely shallow and believe the spoon-fed media hype when we consider these issues.

Where is the "change"....this looks like Clinton the sequel.

Hopefully Hillary won't be in charge of the "do over" on health care. The USA needs single payer universal coverage. No more insurance companies and HMO's to suck the country dry!!!!!!!

This is just damn hilarious. The Obama voter dopes are in total denial of the reality that the democratic party is one big clusterf*ck of all the same people. Sorry but it's true. Bill Clinton's campaign was "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow." Obama's was "Hope and Change." But no matter which one you get swindled by, you get the same cronies and crooks in the white house no matter what.

And to top it all the Obama voter dopes are saying Hillary won't last? Sorry but she will! Because you got duped! You got taken! You got conned into thinking you were voting for change when you were really voting for the Clinton Administration, Part II!

DOPES!!
