What does this have to do with today?

I want to show you what it looks like when it all falls apart.

Iceland and Thailand are kicking things off.

If this downfall isn't stopped, it could get real ugly real quick.

With no real oversight and psychopaths running everything, I think it's gonna get real bad, real soon.

Congress has a yella streak a mile wide down it's back and letting the thieves and thugs get what they want.

They're raping you're children and you won't get even get the least bit angry, what's wrong with you damned people.

Better yet, what's right with you?

Listen, we will probably experience a deep recession. But no there won't be riots on the streets, mass disorder, increase in crime, etc....

All of that stuff is the belief of serious doom and gloomers. All they do is engage in extreme pessimism. We will be ok. Just buckle up for a little bit of turbulence and we will be back to the road of prosperity in no time soon. Look at all that the world has gone through and we are still here, more prosperous than ever before.

Keith, there is a HUGE difference between Iceland and Thailand and the U.S.A. We are the United States of America. We are the wealthiest nation in the world and in general people have more respect for the law here than any other country in the world. We as a society believe in law and order. So we won't see the same stuff that is happening in Thailand and Iceland.

That last post is just a joke, right?

Right?

That is the funniest thing I will read all week.
My God.
Stunning, just stunning.

We now return you to our coverage of the collapse of the American economy due to corruption, fraud, and outright theft.

Keith:

Ben Fanklin had it right: the national symbol of the USA should have been a turkey and not a bald eagle. We are a nation of big, dumb turkeys.

I hope that when my debt-stuffed, brain-dead fellow Americans carve into their Thanksgiving dinners, they will take the time to note their resemblence to the main dish.

America is still in denial. For 90% of people nothing has changed other than gas prices dropping by $2.50/gallon. The numbers tossed about in news stories are so large that they have no resonance, no meaning to the average person. It's like watching a monopoly game on TV.

Could it unravel? Sure, but no one can predict how or when that might occur. I saw trouble coming seven years ago and relocated to a place I thought would be safe.

I'd like to know where the anger is myself.

Bawahahahahahahahahahaha. Would those be the people who have so much respect for the law, they have no problem committing mortgage fraud and in some cases bragging about it on their blog (CS)??? Are those the people you are talking about?

OK, the Feds/Treasury/Government/Raiders,
spent billions paying off the debt/losses/marks of the Big Gambling Casino called Wall Street&
Lenders .In addition the crooks are taking hard earned future tax dollars and insuring the debt of bad current paper and bad future paper .

What these mugs don't understand is that you can't inflate a Bubble within 2 years of it crashing .Second these goofs don't consider that wages haven't gone up much ,nor will they . Get ready for business with a tapped out American that will be hard pressed to pay the bills they have . These
goofs ,the Money Changers ,borrowed into the future at least 10 years in demand and prices and
we already have 10 million extra housing units (at least ) .

What are people going to do ,buy second houses when they already have lost equity and a third of their stock positions ?

If they open up easy money again ,it will create bad debt again ,especially with this BS that a debtor is a victim ,or people just won't take the offered debt and they will horde money .

So, as it stands now the taxpayers are going to be lending risky debt to the taxpayers as well as riding off the past orgies . I don't want in on that game in that the American spender has already proved that they can't manage money .The gamblers will come out of the woodwork ,not the stable people .
This should be a time of job creation via public goods , and the goofs should be paying off their debt ,not creating more .

The Big Gambling Casino and the lenders and Real Estate Monsters
borrowed into the future ,at least 7 years worth of future demand and debt.

The sad part is that Main Street America will suffer the most by the raiding of taxpayers funds to pay the gamblers losses .pAULSON TOOK HIS 1/2 BILLION AND RAN AND NOW ITS MAKING SURE ALL HIS OTHER BUDDIE BAG-HOLDERS GOT THEIRS TO .

The government has exceeded its authority as to its function and
its not the governments responsibility to cover bad bets . Now the government under King Paulson is FDIC insuring bad Debt or loans instead of simply deposits . This is a nightmare of insanity . Its the biggest gamble in history by the big Gambler Paulson with his big bogus gun .
Remember your wonderful Politicians want to give him(Paulson ) the power ,in spite of Main Street objecting . Raiders of the lost Ark and I hope they
get zapped.

You have no America anymore .

Too late, It already has.

The tail has fallen off and the airplane is headed straight into the ground at full throttle.

The only thing to wish for is that there are many politicians on the plane with you.

Wait until the lights go out and people are hungry...

Justice is coming to the Guilty.
Money will not matter soon.

Reckoning Right around the Corner.

Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy it. It may be your last one.

Tamed, jaded, apathetic, call it what you will. The majority of Americans will stand still for just about anything. The core of the population, remember, are (or are descended from) immigrants who were basically forced out of their own homelands due to economic hardships, persecution, etc. Affluence is relatively new to America and I think we have always suspected it to be fleeting. We EXPECT hardship. We expect tough times. We will accept it and deal with it, as we have for hundred of years.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. It will be different, but it will be ugly if things collapse.

That's where this country is heading if we continue with these reckless policies of throwing more money at the economic crisis at hand.

However, this time around, the looting and stealing will be 10-times as worse.

Nick -

These same "doom and gloomers" have been right about most of their gloomy predictions.

Telling the truth is something most people can't handle hearing in this country, yet it will smack them right dead in the face whether they are prepared or not.

Hoping for the best, but expecting the worse, and making preparations is very level-headed thinking.

Supposedly, a frog will sit in a pot that has been place onto a hot stove, and not move - even as the water temperature rises to boiling, killing it.

Somehow, I do not see this happening to the (already) angry, scared masses. At some point, they are going to say, “enough is enough” and explode into fury.

And unfortunately, the ones who they vent their fury on will not be those who are responsible for the mess we are in.

This is what happened during the peek of the 1991 California real estate crash, I was there.

It has everything to do with today historically as history may repeat itself.

The Black people just got a break with a Black president. No matter what happens the atmosphere is emotionally racially charged; it is a short trip from euphoria to hate and anger.

The videos we need to watch from the LA Riots are the ones of gun owning merchants protecting their property. The police, fire department, and hospitals were overwhelmed during this event so self protection was prudent.

Satan recommends the Remington home security 8 shot 12 gauge shotgun(Big 5 $329) loaded with 00 buck shot(Walmart), several fire extinguishers (as water pressure was low), medical supplies, food for 2 days, etc.

Bravo Keith, very pertinent post, in plenty of time for readers to prepare.

UH Wait a minute: doesn't Iceland have a standard of living on par if not higher than the US? Last I heard, they weren't having a problem with street gangs over in Iceland.

What they are having a problem with is citizens running low on food, fuel, and other necessities that can't be bought now that their currency is practically worthless.

Being cold and hungry will piss off even the most law abiding person.

Yeah, this is why everyone needs to be armed to the teeth. The cops aren't going to save your ass from 1 million pissed off illegal Mexicans.

No way could that happen with Obama as president. he would be able to quell the violence with a good speech and a catchy 3 word phrase like "stop violence Now!"

Thanks for the recommendation Satan.

Maybe I will do the American thing and stimulate the economy by purchasing a shotgun and ammo on Black Friday.

Are they made in America, or have they shipped those jobs to China too?

I vividly remember this. I was on a US Navy warship returning from a 6 month Western Pacific Cruise (Westpac). We had been on deployment in the Persian Gulf in support of operation Desert Storm. We came in range of US TV the night this started, talk about a buzzkill.

The happiness of returning from a Westpac was definately overcame by the spectacle of Americans acting all third world. WTF were we out here for? My thought process was along the line that the most dangerous port we pulled into in 6 months might possibly be our own.

I wonder from time to time if the A - holes that took part in this ever regret it. The basically started burning down their city over the likes of Rodney King.

Yes I am afraid it could happen again.

Yeah, I was in LA during the so-called riots. While the US freaked out and thought this was so unbelievably horrible ... I yawned. This was nothing. NOTHING. A few stores burned, some random people shot on the first day ... and then after that, it turned into one big shopping spree. And it wasn't just the hoodrats, either. I saw a coupla white yuppie businessmen in an Acura kick in the window of a computer store and start loading out laser printers.

After the first day, the fires were mostly being set by businessmen hoping to take advantage of the chaos by torching their money-losing businesses. Proof? When the Nat'l Guard was called out, the fires stopped. Why? Because having the Guard called out officially invalidates insurance policies, and the crooks could no longer cash in on having their stores torched.

The food riots in '88 in Caracas? That was some heavy s**t. The riots in Ecuador under the criminally deranged President Abdala Bucaram? Now we're getting someplace. And then in the mid-90s, when Boris Yeltsin had tanks in the streets firing directly into the Duma? Yeah, like that. Those are riots.

You're all freaking and overreacting. Like the cartoon Americans in "Bowling for Columbine." So yeah. Give more of your money to Remington and buy beef jerky, Spam & Vietnam-vintage C-rats.

The whole descent into Road Warrior-type anarchy is a few years off, at least.

In a way I hope it does all fall apart. Since the 1970s I have been saying the time would come.

I have been renting for almost 40 years because I felt that once the SHTF homes would be taken over by the government. I still talk with people I knew when I started renting and they own their houses free and clear.

I grow and raise my own food on a hobby farm I rent and it gets tiring. You have to butcher enough meat and can enough fruits and vegetables to make it through the winter. Meanwhile people I know haven't had to cook a meal in years.

I don't save, because the banking and market systems will someday be a thing of the past. I have gold, but keep waiting to use it and the day never seems to come. At the same time, people I know have a million or more banked.

My friends laughed at me when I got a 3-wheel solar car in the 70's because it couldn't hold enough of a charge to get back from town and I always had to push it the last few miles home. I finally got a car that burns gas and it doesn't seem right, but it's harder for me to walk long distances these days, much less push a solar car.

But my day will come. I look at things now and in some ways they are the same as they have been the last 4 decades. But I keep hoping for vindication, for a total collapse so I can show how prepared to survive I am. All I need is to be right one time. At the same time, it seems I have been wrong for too long. I worry that I am not prepared to survive if the world keeps on operating the way it does.

It cracks me up that people insist that "Americans haven't changed and have learned nothing," when all the latest numbers show savings increasing, paydowns on debt accelerating, and consumer spending reining in.

I know that a bunch of you want America to explode in a fireball of rage and hate to slake your racist White Power fantasies, but it's not gonna happen. America is integrating, interracial relationships are on the rise, and the only thing you're trying to avoid by setting up shop in Idaho is the prospect of your daughter marrying a "colored."

One thing a history teacher told me was:

"No country is more than 3 meals away from a revolution."

Always remember this. A hungry man will do anything.

Anonymous said...

Unless people go hungry for extended periods of time there will be no rioting.
Americans are to damn lazy to mount a serious riot. Of course you could be missing your favorite TV show while rioting, God forbid.

Anonymous said...

It shows we are far more stable society. People lost chunk of retirement, kids are put into debt and no riots so far.
