Dick Cheney admits he ordered the code red: Now facing criminal prosecution and arrest on foreign soil unless Bush pardons him (as expected)

So Dick Cheney put it out there for all to see - he has now admitted he ordered the torture of people he determined to be "enemy combatants".

Why the admission?

So that his co-conspirator Bush is forced to pardon him in a few days.

Which, of course, he will.

And yes, this is sick. Sick, sick, sick.

First we had Bush illegally order Scooter Libby to illegally leak the name of a CIA spy for political reasons - and then he set Libby free.

And then we had Cheney, likely at Bush's urging, illegally order torture. And illegal wiretaps too.

And then Bush, of course, will pardon Cheney.

So, what does that leave?

If Libby and Cheney (and all the other people Bush is about to pardon) cannot be prosecuted for their crimes, what are we to do to get some form of justice?

The United States must threaten to investigate and prosecute George W. Bush.

The one and only way to prevent Bush from pardoning everyone involved in the lawlessness of this administration would be for President-Elect Obama to tell Bush, right now, publicly, that if he dares pardon Cheney, Rumsfeld, Meyers, Gonzalez or any of his administration or fellow co-conspirators, then Obama will not pardon or impede the investigation of Bush.
Otherwise, Bush will do his dirty deed.

Within days.

Cheney Taunts Bush, Pardon Me or Else

With his ABC interview Vice President Dick Cheney put a smoking gun on the table. He admitted that he, along with other top administration officials, personally approved the CIA's waterboarding of prisoners. That he said it unapologetically is merely his low-keyed way of declaring open war.

Obama and the Dems are not going to do a damn thing against Bush and Bush knows it. The Dem leadership (Pelosi and Reid) were well aware of the torture way back when it started.

Here's the relevant news story on Pelosi's full prior knowledge:

Secretly briefed, Pelosi did not object to waterboarding in 2002

This is why Pelosi has said that impeachment is "off the table". The only real hero in the Democrat party is Dennis Kucinich. And what do they paint him as? A loon, a quack? Simply because he wants to bring some law and order to Washington? Sounds familiar doesn't it? Like Ron Paul is the crazy loon for predicting our current economic situation and being the only intelligent speaker on the stage during the Republican primaries.

What we have is two corrupt to the core parties that have no real or fundamental differences. And a corrupt media that is run by the same network of corrupt elite individuals at the board level. Many of the same individuals who have high level government positions and/or board membership in the military industrial complex, big pharma and so on...

There will be no justice for Bush or Cheney.

Love the "simulated" drowning canard universally employed now. Sounds like a kid's video game.

Would 10 minutes of it cause a simulated death?

So when will the mendacious and malevolent dog start fessing up to all his other antics? Let's waterboard the motherf***er and see what comes out.

what's wrong with a little torture here and there?

Have we gone soft?

gotta admire him for being honest. hell...you can't get obama to even admit he still smokes for craps sake.

Keith, Obama would do best to keep fucking mouth shut right now. He is in enough deep shit already and he hasn't even taken office.

Now I kinda like the facts of all this. Little torture in my book is fine. Call me what you will. This is still a war on terror. Poor outcomes of Iraq is not going to change that the resistance is still there. We aren't playing with fucking Barbies here keith.

Huff and Puff post, how cute, and predicable. Here's something almost as funny. Porky Pig sings Blue Christmas.

Yeah, Jack Bauer eats terrorist testicles for breakfast!!! Yeeeeah!! U! S! A! U! S! A!

The problem of course is that a lot of these so called terrorists are not terrorists at all. At least they are not proven terrorists in a court of law. If they are tried at all it's in a military commission kangaroo court behind closed doors.

That is a breakdown in law and order that we should all be concerned about. Because when a corrupt government discards the rule of law anybody can be labeled an "enemy combatant" or a terrorist and vanished without habeas corpus.

That is the heart of the problem. Go learn about what's really been going on not what your drug addicted failed disk jockey Rush Limbaugh tells you.

Fuck You, Dick Cheneyburton.

A pox on your house and all your children including the test-tube grandkid.

Hoping for a heart attack,

You missed my point. I DON'T FUCKING CARE.

OK, thanks for clearing that up. Now I understand that you're just a belligerent, heartless, ignorant moron like the vast majority of Americans.

"OK, thanks for clearing that up. Now I understand that you're just a belligerent, heartless, ignorant moron like the vast majority of Americans."

Like I said, call me what you will. Since I am not drunk, haven't been since college, my wife says I have a huge heart, and some guy called me a moron on the way to work this morning because he alsmost hit me after running a stop sign I really don't care and your name calling does not affect me. It fact it shows you are done with anything inteligent to say.

The one that gets me is is ignorant. This term is used by most who are "ignorant" themselves and like I stated have no more to say on a matter other than name calling.

To further explain why I don't fucking care is this "waterboarding" bullshit is another political crock of shit for an opposing party to to say "See, he was wrong!" Congratulations! Hold onto it real tight. It will make you feel better like a teddy bear in the arms of a 3 year old.

Now, I am as guilt as you are to latching onto a political agenda from time to time. So fine.

What I do care about is the shit that is going on in regards to this new joke of an administration that we are getting on Jan 20. This joke that so many are clinging onto as change. It is the same bulshit. Obama backed up Bush as he sent troops to Iraq. His economic policies is that of Bush's on steroids. There is no change, it ios the same and it is worse. I have dildos like you surrounding me latching onto this stupid new administration for the most "ignorant" political reasons. Don't call me ignorant. I will fuck you up.

Thank God someone ordered the Code Red!

You limp wristed libs don't understand the meaning or function of torture!

It's ugly and a necessary tool sometimes....

and it works every time it's used!

Be thankful we learned a lot of useful info (our security) because of torture!

Anonymous said...

what he didn't say because he couldn't say was that while ugly as it is it probably saved lives so i say to you keith i would rather you just say thank you and be on your way otherwise i suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post and mark this day in your blog obama will continue the same policy because he would not want on his watch a major city experience a devastating attack because he had failed to get information from one of these honor students you adore

Anon 11:34, use a name, like for instance porky pig or anything.

The problem with americans is they have too much heart, not too little. Here's some advice. Finish college, get a job and pay taxes and read a lot (and not just the left wing blogs) for about 5 years (at least) then your posts may reflect some understanding.

Opps I messed that up. It's Anon 10:57 I aimed that towards. Sorry 11:34.

'Bush will do his dirty deed'

And so it goes...

This puppet show has been planned down to the last pardon.

We have been played like a Yiddish fiddle.

And as the curtain falls on another corrupt adminstration, the strings are reattached to the newly 'elected' puppet administration.

The show must go on...

Who gives a flying f**k about waterboarding. If it saves American lives, I say wterboard all those bastards.

How about a post about all the 9/11 perpetrators at GITMO who are now confessing? Don't hear any of that here.

Typical liberal nonsense. If something happens, blame the government for not stopping it. If the government tries to prevent an attack, stop them from preventing it.

The whole mess of this country appears to be ego-satisfaction driven. Too many lawyers too few hard workers too many bitchers too few realists.

For what it's worth, I do recall a former intelligence officer in interrogations saying that, "if you have to torture, you aren't doing your job".

If the "big-game" we're supposed to be playing turns-out to be just a game of the self satisfaction of the ego-centric drive of human nature, then I guess I loose.

And loose, I should, because I find cultural and intellectual development much more to my liking. I really wonder what all these politicians and economics pro's have as inner thoughts. Are they at a child's mentality because of their privileged up-bringing?

I can see some complexity in the workings of the world and it's major players, those may be of my own nature and "they", the actors are just miscast because of their elitism and the world is truly heading for a hellish self destruction.

The older I get, the more fake "they" appear and yes, I do fear about the future of the human race, but as the older I get, the less I care.

get a life Keith; you know one version of only part of the story. I am glad we have ass kickin leaders. A little fear in our enemies' hearts is not a bad thing. Where is Neville Chamberlin in history? A derided milt-toast. You remind me of the guy on the street corner yelling, but no one is listening. You kill American soldiers and get caught? I will personally torture you... that is... before I kill you.

Name withheld, Major, USArmy; 2x tours in Anbar.

>>It's ugly and a necessary tool sometimes....

Unfortunately, no. It does not.

Amateurs and armchair sadists think that it does. But remember what your hero, John McCain did under torture, when he was asked to reveal the names of the other pilots in his squadron? That's right - he gave misinformation. He lied, and gave the names of the starting offensive line of the Packers.

Trained professionals will toy with their interrogators under torture, and muddy the waters with so much disinformation that the enemy is confused and does not know what to believe. And the innocent will say anything to stop the pain.

This combination is responsible for the defeat of the Nazis. They spent their time chasing after shadows that the French Resistance and the Danish Resistance planted. This combination resulted in the defeat of the United States in Vietnam, when widespread use of torture still didn't manage to stop the Viet Cong.

Works every time? Hell, why not just legalize it domestically then? If it's such a panacea for lawbreaking, why not allow the cops to use it? Think of it - next time you get pulled over, the cop has the right to yank you out of the car and maybe give you the "stinky nightstick" treatment that the NYPD gave Abner Douallo.

Then again, you'd probably enjoy that.

How 'bout this - the cops take you to an all girls school and yank down your pants. And everyone then points and laughs at your tiny wee-wee.

The use of torture will result in the defeat of America in Iraq. Already, the U.S. has been deeply, deeply shamed by these admissions.

The fact that you are not - that you are beyond shame - is what psychologists refer to as "weak-submissive."

You poor moronic bastard. Still living in the world of left/right, Lib vs Conservative, Olbermann vs O'Reilly control mechanism.

9/11 was an inside job. Google "The Project for the New American Century" written by those Neocons you love so much. You support the policies of these Neocons like Cheney, Kristol, Perle, Wolfowitz etc and you don't even realize that they don't give a flying f*ck about you or any other American and they admit that much in their own documents.

Of course in public they say "we need to fight the terrorists" or "we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud".

Grow the f*ck up you morons and do some research. Bill O'Reilly is not news. Keith Olbermann is not news. Rush Limbaugh is not news or information. Sean Hannity is not news or information and that dyke Rachel Maddown is not news or information either.

It's just entertainment and cheerleading for the two meaningless teams red and blue that both serve the elite.

Are you seriously worried about "The Terrorists"? Where the f*ck are these terrorists? Why are they such a phantom that we have no clear information or evidence on?

Where the hell is Osama Bin Laden? How inept can the US be when it can't find some arab living in a cave? Do you really believe that when they have every American under surveillance?

This sh*t is so ridiculously Orwellian how do you people believe it? Have you read 1984? Do you understand what it's about? That it's an incredibly prescient look into how the elite and those in power use social engineering and propaganda to control society?

I feel like I'm discussing this stuff with a bunch of elementary school kids.

The Terrorists!! Oh, the Terrorists!!! Sheesh!

These criminals in the White House will be arrested some day soon. They are not be free to travel outside of the United States. The shoe flinging was just a gauntlet. The womanish Bush has no power to do anything at all. He will be in chains, pleading for mercy, blaming it all on his wife. We all know what becomes of such cowards in the end.

Cheney is a murderer.

Cheney was behind 9/11.

What followed was a dog and pony show for the "barely drooling" part of the American public that bought all the "patriot" flag waving jingoism that followed...

He is a war criminal and a murderer.

Nobody represents the evil arrogance of the Bushco years better than Cheney.

One can only hope that there is a special place in Hell for him.

I see that the free-marketeers are showing their true colors on this thread. I caught the end of Hardball yesterday where Duncan Hunter was using the tired ole red herring argument "what would you do if there was a terrorist...blah...blah...blah". The proper response to this and all arguments in support of torture is this: Please tell me exactly what you are willing do to prevent this mythical terrorist event that the suspect may (or may not) have information about. Would you bring the suspect's son into the room and smash his balls with a hammer? or how about bringing in his daughter to have her gang-raped? What depths of depravity are you willing to go to? AND by the same token, I assume you have no problem with other countries doing that to our citizens? And while we're at it, if I think another country might be planning an attack, we should nuke the whole country. Doesn't that protect us?

Where do you draw the line?

Maybe we need to come up with a set of guidelines to draw a line in the sand of what we will or will not do in the name of prevention. Oh, that's right, we already do...it's called the Geneva Convention. We agreed to it and have enforced it by putting to death those that cross the line.

Cheney has admitted crossing that line and if we are a nation of laws then he must be punished.

No? Then when some scumbag murders your family and cuts of your arms and winds up in court, should I as a juror say "tough luck, bozo...you said 'what's wrong with a little torture here and there?' and 'You missed my point. I DON'T FUCKING CARE.'"? Why should I care that you got hacked up? Give me one reason why I would convict that person. Either we're a nation of laws OR WE"RE NOT.

To all of the cowards who advocate torture while sitting behind their computer keyboards: Get the f**k out of America. Please deport yourself. You don't belong here. You've sold out your country and its heritage. Go and live in Pakistan, Iran or Russia. You might fit in there.

Um, if I remember correctly

You can't pardon someone who hasn't been charged with a crime.

Maybe that's the Democratic strategy. No subpoenas or arrests until after Bush is out of office so he can't pardon anyone.

Just my two cents.

Pardoning someone in the US has nothing to do with prosecution on foreign soil.

The corrupt congress wouldn't impeach, and they won't prosecute. But foreign governments are another story. These criminals will have to hide out here. They won't be able to travel. It's not a punishment, but their reputations are gone for good. That's all we can hope for or expect.
