Can you imagine ANY Democratic presidential candidate saying this except Kucinich, the guy who was practically laughed off the state for being part of the "Loony Left"? To say nothing of Ike's Rethuglican spawn. And compare Eisenhower's farewell address to President Stumblebum's recent "I did a good job. Really, I DID! I'm a nice guy, I tell ya" address.

How long will it be before the Repiglickin' economic recovery program becomes "We must re-arm America. We must put everyone to work building rifles and tanks and airplanes and missiles to defend ourselves. That's the way to bring back the industrial base in this nation -- weaponry, the last thing in which America excels!"

Best laugh: recent news report saying the "one bright spot" in our economy is higher government employment.

Fuk. Mi.

His successor was killed a scant 34 months later by the same Military Industrial Complex.

We haven't had a country since then.

I think Ike was happy to make it out of office without getting killed. And I think he knew that evil forces were out there, and would likely kill.

And kill they did.

That said, those same evil forces are still out there. Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush all kissed the ring. It looks like Obama intends not to.

Cause for worry.

I think that George Patton should have been the Prez--

At least all of us guys would have had to wear ties in the Company HQ area.

I did not like IKE because he built the "innerstates" which killed Route 66 and subsequently destroyed America.

I really like the fact that Obama accepted only individual donations to fund his inauguration. I'm really hoping it's not just a symbolic gesture.

We need to guard against the undue influence of a broad range of special interests, not just the military industrial complex.

I do not ideologically agree with Obama but I can forgive honest mistakes. The Obama white house will be the darling of hollywood just as the clinton white house was. But I would much rather Obama was influenced by Halle Barry than Haliburton.
