OBAMA COMING TO MY TOWN. I have been telling you all that Lehigh Acres is Ground Zero for the housing crisis! An article in the New Yorker coming out next week, Ponzi State, details the devastation of the Gulf Coast of Florida, particularly Lehigh Acres. Seems Obama heard about it, since he will be here on Tuesday.

From the News Press:
"President Barack Obama will visit Lee County on Tuesday, attending a town hall meeting in Fort Myers and making a tour of Lehigh Acres to sell his economic recovery plan.

What he will see is a community blighted by foreclosures and plagued by a 10 percent unemployment rate — 3 percent higher than the national average.

The town hall meeting will be held at Harborside Event Center. From there, Obama is expected to head to Lehigh Acres....

"I am so pleased to see that the president is aware of this area and the issues facing him," Humphrey said.

A small group including Jim Moore, executive director of Lee County's economic development office, and possibly Humphrey, will show Obama around the county, focusing on the plight of Lehigh Acres, where abandoned and foreclosed homes are common.

"It's my understanding that is what he wants to see," Moore said. "He wants to see whatever illustrates the problem. Lehigh Acres is characterized as ground zero for the housing crisis...."

Is it time to buy housing again?? With the tax credit and now Fannie Mae is going to let investors get up to 10 loans again as opposed to their more stringent 4 investor loans only. https://www.efanniemae.com/sf/guides/ssg/annltrs/pdf/2009/0902.pdf

you are completely void of any credibility with your love affair of this outright fraud who you continue to prop up regardless of his deception and lies only two weeks in but it is fun to watch you spin your way through this and waiting for your usual rant reply to anyone who doesn't buy into the sale and he will be a one term president and you will fade away to the coffee shops you haunt looking for internet service and the sitcom is about to begin

Is it beginning to sound like the S&L scandal of the 1980.

Moody's Investors Service is reviewing its rating methodology for commercial mortgage-backed securities issued after 2006 and is warning that it could downgrade some AAA-rated bonds.

The review, launched in response to falling property values and rising delinquency rates, should be completed by the end of the quarter

Nice speech, but really a bunch of nonsense.

Upgrading classrooms and "modernizing health care" is not going to change the fundamentals of this economy or “create jobs” for the long term. If he really believes this then he is very naive.

It was also very naive for this guy to say that it'd be a catastrophe if Congress didn't pass this bill.

There are ways of fundamentally changing the economy with 900bln, but this bill can't do it.

The ONLY reason I didn't vote for this character is because IF we need to start a war to maintain our standard of living he simply won't do it. This may yet be what is required. He will quote the "rule of law" when it comes to confiscating others’ natural resources, without implementing that rule of law here. You know what I'm talking about - these a-holes who stole all this money and manipulated the market are going to continue to get away with it. He's going to do nothing. And when there's no way out but war he will continue to do nothing.

There really are only two likely outcomes at this point: 1) war is required to maintain our standard of living (or at least for people to not starve) OR 2) there is a terror attack and he treats it as a police action. Either of the above will put the type of guy you hate so much, G.W. Bush, back into office in a subsequent administration.

New rules:

1. Large tax cuts only to companies that produce in the good ol' USA, so all those Chinese jobs can come back home.

2. Cut all foreign aid until we reach a surplus.

3. Cancel all H-1B visas and reinforce legal employment.

4. Spend money in freaking high speed rail (modern bullet train) for god's sake. $2 billion for that in the current bill, while there was $4 billion for A-Corn? What a joke!

If I were a Moneybags, I'd be really liking how this is going.

How to time the housing market.

Is job lost a leading indicator or a lagging indicator for the housing markets.

http://www.usatoday.com/money/economy/2009-01-26-economy-recession-layoffs_N.htm

"Some of the worst job losses are ahead of us, not behind us," says Wells Fargo senior economist Scott Anderson.

He expects 3 million Americans to lose their jobs in 2009 — up from the 2.6 million who were cut last year, which was the most since 1945, the final year of World War II. The layoffs are happening in "all industries in all areas of the world," Anderson says. "This will be one of the worst job markets in the postwar period."

Folks, it's official: The US economy is composed only of AAPL, GOOG, AMZN, RIMM.

The investors have spoken. Close everything else and let's live just off iPods, searches, trinkets, and text messages.

I'd like to know how, exactly, Obama is any different from Bush - other than knowing how to speak English? He's continuing very similar, if not even worse, economic policies. He's got the same guy in charge of Defense, he just appointed a very conservative Republican to Commerce and the rest of his appointees are tax cheats and/or failed Wall St. bankers.

At least with McCain, we wouldn't have the first president of color be one of the biggest disappointments in presidential history - just behind bush. And, not - Keith - I'm not "giving him a chance." For one - he was the one who said - "I know I've never run anything in my life; I have very little experience in government or private sector; most of you know little to nothing about me or my past, but just trust me - I'll hit the ground running" so he has only himself to blame for the standard we hold him to. For another thing - WE CAN'T AFFORD TO "GIVE HIM A CHANCE." WE ARE DROWNING HERE - NO ROOM FOR ON THE JOB TRAINING.

Keefer the messiah does not get it, he does not sense the amount of public anger out there, FDR did, hearings and investigations, and yes jail sentences and stricter regulation (will BarrY regulate hedge funds??? yeah right) the elite need to sacrifice some scalps to appease the masses, seems Barry and Co don't get it...
