March 2, 2009

Folks, I've held out as long as I could, but now it's time to call it: The New Great Depression is here.

The world will not be going back to normal folks.
Not after the magnitude of what they have done.

Some are still going to Best Buy, still going about their daily routines.

But I'm not sure how much longer that can keep up.

It's not a question of if.

Unless there is significant and
dramatic action within days,

it'll be a question of how long,
how deep, and how dangerous.

It's all falling apart now.
All of it.
The center could not hold.
Things fall apart.
And the monkeys run free.

You're on your own.

And now, faster and faster,
the jobs will disappear.

And when the wealth is gone,
and the jobs are gone,
what will be left?

Rage.

Pure rage.

Get ready.

The New Great Depression is Here.

Indeed. I've accepted it.

Now maybe the sheeple will get mad enough to toss out our asshat "leaders" and the oligarchs that own them. In the meantime, guns & ammo are your best friends.

Your ready to call the Great Depression---and are you also ready to finally acknowledge the New World Order and the secret societies that run our United States Government?

The ones who brought you your "New Great Depression"?

KEY WORDS (if you dont know what I mean, but I am sure you do):

NWO
Rothchilds
Rockefellers
Bilderburgers
Council on Foreign Relations
Trilateral Commission
Kissenger
World Bank
Illuminati (13 families)
and all the others too many and too complex to mention.

Well, are you?

(I wanted real bad to use the Clint Eastwood cliche', but I dont consider you a punk) You have lots of savy--so fess up to this question!!!

The store shelves are finally getting restocked with ammo after the post-election buying frenzy.
Time to stock up.
Also cash dollars may be of use. I wouldn't be flashing gold or silver around.
Look for the new normal to be established by summer 2011, until then...Good Luck.

"Does anyone still think there's a PPT?
Monday, March 02, 2009
If there is such a thing as a Plunge Protection Team (PPT), otherwise known in some circles as the Working Group on Financial Markets, they're sure doing a lousy job of keeping the stock market from taking a header into the pavement.

Could it be that markets are just doing what markets are supposed to do?

It seems that mysterious S&P500 futures buyer N990 (or whatever he/she was called) has failed to appear anywhere near a stock market for some time now..."

Game, Set, Match.

America IS Dead. Good Riddance.

It's definitely down to the basics right now. People I know have finally realized we are in the shit and they are talking about planting gardens, raising chickens and cows in their yards, renting out rooms, and other survival methods. My lease on the apartment I'm renting runs out at the end of June. I guess if I can keep my job until then, I can move back in with my parents. They are going to put in a garden for the first time in ten years.

Vehicle Sales in January
by CalculatedRisk on 3/02/2009 02:22:00 PM
The BEA released vehicle sales for January this morning. Total auto and truck sales in the U.S. were below 10 million (SAAR) for the first time since 1982. I've update the sales and turnover graphs below with the January data.

The automakers will release February sales numbers tomorrow, and here is a preview from MarketWatch: No sales bounce in sight for automakers

The total industry decline, according to Edmunds.com, is expected to reach 41.4%. Most forecasts on Wall Street call for a seasonally adjusted annual rate of sales in the low 9-million range, down from 9.6 million last month, which marked a 26-year low.

"The crisis in the automotive market continues to worsen, but we believe we are nearing the bottom of this cycle," J.D. Power analyst Jeff Schuster said in a report last week. "Our expectation is for February or March to be the low point, but a high degree of uncertainty and risk remains for the second half of 2009."

Jeff Schuster = Lawrence Yun/NAR

Where do they find these douches?

AMERICA IS DEAD. TURD WORLD NATION OF CORRUPT NOBODIES AND NOTHING.

Nah, things need to get a lot worse. And they will.

Like...try 25% unemployment on for size. 35% anyone?

Try gasoline shortages and even food shortages.

Try class warfare that involves people TAKING what they need and want from each other by force, on a much bigger scale than seen before in this land.

We're not even very close yet to the Greater Depression that will be upon us.

But you can many signs of us headed that way.

I do not see rage happening.

If Americans had any rage in them this rage would have been expressed when Iraq was found to be entirely lacking in WMDs; when 20-30 million foreigners broke into and entered the country demanding welfare, food stamps, free medical care, and full citizenship rights; when US corporation started to export American manufacturing and service jobs; when almost every freaking rich, white liberal up for political office was found to have employed illegal immigrants under the table and beneath the minimum wage; when Ted Kennedy, who left a woman friend to drown and die in his car, was re-elected and re-elected time and time again; when John McCain (and other politicians) responded to the exporting of American jobs by saying , “Well boys, there’s nothing we can do--them jobs just ain’t coming back.”; when private equity companies brought productive and healthy American companies, stripped their equity, and left them smothering wrecks;...

Like someone else posted today Keith, you're calling this one two years early. If this is a new depression, oh man, that sucks.

I want the entitled to lose money. I want Mozillio and Greenscam and realthores in jail. I want our economy based on making things of value, not moving money around. But we don't need a depression, that's where people can't eat and are going to apartment buildings singing for money like my grandmother always said.

And someone else asked about churning milk. I don't know how to do that. Maybe I'll take up blacksmithing or even trench digging. Thanks for nothing homedebtors, relathores, analysts, Fannie and Freddie lobbyists, AIG's. You totally f'd us all.

Please cop, don't you buy into the New World Order game, because they will screw your family, too. Side with the American citizens who are fighting that group of global elite freaks.

These global elite (Gordon, American politicians, Sarkozy, military industrial complex, banksters, etc) want to be on top of the pyramid while the rest of us support their rich lifestyles.

Side with us, the regular folks who pay your salary and actually work for a living, not those big wigs who are parasites of our hard-earned money.

Don't go against the people who actually are fighting for a better country and to kick this global elite out. Have you noticed how they're pushing the violence in Mexico to confiscate our guns? Who knows who's attacking who in Mexico, or if they have set that gun store up to create a phony excuse to push gun control.

Just look around you. Store owners are dumping merchandise as quickly as they can under the guise of big 'SALES'. People think they are getting some great deals on crap that is unnecessary and will not help them a bit in the coming Depressed Times. A music store in Pittsburgh had a big sale today on instruments. One poor schmuck was on tv grinning happily that he had paid only $200 for a $600 item. Lots of other suckers were in the store also, snapping up 'bargains'. They just don't see the forest fire for the trees. In a couple of months they will be wishing like hell that they still had the money they pissed away on these 'bargains'. They will need it for food.

George W. Bush was in office for 2922 days, 75% of that time with a congress controlled by his now-dead party. Obama has been in office for what, 40 days?

Good luck blaming the New Great Depression on Obama. That dog won't hunt.

That said, Obama's attempts to stop the Depression have been very disappointing so far. He doesn't have much time to do the right thing either - continued bad moves could be fatal.

He could stop the market free-fall tomorrow if he wanted. It's easy. Just restore the uptick, reverse mark-to-market changes, ban skf and ultra-leveraged etfs, ban naked short selling, arrest angelo mozilo and michael perry, introduce $100,000 IRA contribution limits for 2009 and 2010, suspend forced IRA withdrawals, and introduce 100% depreciation on business purchases for 2009 and 2010.

Recovery started. Takes one minute.

So why do we need presidents at all, if everything is always the previous guy's fault? Partisans take credit for the positive stuff, but everything else is someone else's fault?

You contradict yourself when you claim that the "fix" takes a few minutes, but yet justifies that your Messiah is in office "just" 40 days".

Besides, you (conveniently) seem to forget that your Messiah's VP pick voted for the Iraq war, so did his Secretary of State, and so did most of democrat thieves in Congress.

This small circle of your Messiah's closest friends voted along with GWB for most of his policies that supposedly got us here, but none of them are liable for anything, even though they're all working side-by-side with your Messiah by his own chosen? Is that change?

Turbo Tax Tim, another of your Messiah's picks, was involved up to his eyeballs with Paulson in the last administration, working on other failures as you know well.

It seems to me that you purposely protect your Messiah from all the responsibility of picking his cabinet or pushing the porklicious Stimulus, as he's there just as a worthless fixture. Do you think that your Messiah should at least read the stimulus he's pushed so hard? You always say he's sooo intelligent, but didn't notice all that pork waste? And if he did, isn't he being just more of the same?

Furthermore, going against common sense and simple logic, you place major responsibilities onto GWB. Which one is it? Do presidents are relevant or not? Should presidents be relevant in 40 days, 100, or 2 years? What's the benchmark?

Nice illogical MSNBC rhetoric, though.

PS: I've never voted Republican in my life.

I'm just curious about all of the Obama bashers - the guy has only been in office for ~45 days and has a 60% approval rating. Since less than 50% of the country is democratic, that means there are some people other than Dems that think he's doing a good job. Obviously he didn't cause all of this to happen. What, if anything do you think McCain would be doing at this point? Do you honestly think that things could have continued on their merry course? Republicans are quick to judge and yet so short on their own solutions to the problems.

It does point to a one world Govt (NWO?) and a "Leader" who will fix all that is wrong on earth to the point he will be worshiped.
One little problem with his fix though...

Revelation 13:16
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
Revelation 13:17
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Is this it? Is the big one here? Israel is a Nation as predicted...They are hated ...as predicted...The stage is set...as predicted.

Its not too late ...KJV Bible is still in a drawer at your local motel 6...Read fast & believe on the name the book is about...

OK, time for some serious talk here. We need to explore the political dimensions of this crisis. Team Bush didn't give a rat's ass because they weren't up for reelection. That is not the case for the new Democrat Congress and the White House. They will do whatever is needed to ensure a "booming" economy come 2010 and 2011. As politicians, they don't care what is right, responsible, or even legal.

Calm down, Keith.

This looks like "capitulation" to me. You held out, and held out - thought that you were different from the rest of the sheeple.

Well, we all do. Everyone thinks that they are above average, somehow different from the rest, immune to the irrational swings of emotion that drive The Other into fits. Everyone thinks that. And everyone is wrong.

This is capitulation, and yes, depression is right around the corner. It's going to last for quite a while; some of the moves that have been taken in the last six months of Panic will only add to the depth & breadth.

We're heading down to about 5500 on the Dow by June. Summer will be full of riots - but not by the usual suspects. These will take place in Redneckistan, and will be aimed at the usual suspects, the ones that Rush and Hannity demonize on their bloviating shows.

If you truly have prepared for this day, Keith, you will be OK. Not gonna be turning cartwheels of joy, but then again, nobody other than gravediggers is happy when the plague hits.

Keith, Keith, Keith (shaking head sadly)

"He could stop the market free-fall tomorrow if he wanted. It's easy. Just restore the uptick,"
The market is going down because companies have crap on their books and have been playing accounting games to hide it for years. People are realizing they have been had and are taking their ball and going home. The uptick rule is not the cause.

"reverse mark-to-market changes,"

Mark to market is the only true accounting. Make it official that accounting fraud is being not only enabled but actually endorced by the govt by removing these rules and people will realize that not only are they being swindled by the banksters, but by the govt also, and they will take their ball and go home even faster.

"ban skf and ultra-leveraged etfs,"
These aren't taking down the market anymore than the uptick rule and getting rid of them will only reveal how desparate the govt has gotten and cause a panic

"ban naked short selling,"
already illegal, except for the favored few market makers, but when the SEC tried to crack down on them in Sept, they said they would stop trading (and hence freeze the markets) so the SEC backed down, good luck getting the
SEC to go after them again. Anyway not the reason why the market is tanking. See above.

"arrest angelo mozilo and michael perry, "
This would help people believe there is a hope they aren't getting swindled by the govt so the market would strengthen for at least a day, but the underlying crap on the books would still be there so the market wouldn't stay recovered.

"introduce $100,000 IRA contribution limits for 2009 and 2010,"

If not forced to by stocks then no help to market. If forced to buy stocks, people realize they are being swindled, and the market tanks.

" suspend forced IRA withdrawals,"
people realize they are being swindled, and the market tanks.

" and introduce 100% depreciation on business purchases for 2009 and 2010."
So you want Goldman to take our money, buy up business that are still good with it and then pass on the cost to the US citizen?

You sound like a bankster, Keith

Keith, I love how you blame Bush for this. It was Clinton who got the ball rolling. He is the one who forced the banks to loan money to the poor and minorities who could not normally qualify for loans. Next at fault is the idiots who took the loans. Next at fault is the government as a whole for not letting the banks collapse. Next at fault is the fractional reserve banking itself.

Bush/Obama are somewhat at fault, but in the end, they got handed that mess.

I mean seriously, Bush got handed 9/11, housing bubble, and the tech bubble. You bash him, but come on. He had more crap to deal with than anyone since Reagan.

However, I'm not so sure about the rage part of your equation.Yes, surely some hotheads will look for trouble, and some parts of the country that have had these issues in the past will light up again. But I have already seen a great amount of positive chance from the slump. More humility and thought, less hubris and ego in people's actions. It's a lot to ask, but maybe people will even start to think of their neighborhoods as communities again. Or, on the other hand, they may stay the course of heedless self interest and try to weasel their elderly neighbor out of their canned goods.Time will tell...

Oh yeah, stock market and real estate are slammed. (duh). Thanks realtarda. Thanks centralbanktards. Thanks sheepletards and polititards.

Time will tell - indeed this post could be a great sign of capitulation, panic and that a bottom is near.....

Or this post will be seen as a final warning before it all spun horrifically out of control

I'd say 50% chance it's a great sign of a bottom and capitulation, and 50% chance it's a final post before The Catastrophe hit

Popcorn?

Guns?

Wouldn't you all like to skip forward a year or two and see how this thing turned out?

And on this Obama/Bush/Clinton/Pelosi/Graham/Dodd/Frank/Greenspan who's to blame argument, I think at this point, I really don't give a f*ck.

We're beyond who caused this mess. When the answer is they all did. And, does it really matter who caused it, when you're being held up at gunpoint on the street for your wallet? Or when you've lost your job and you're in a foodline? Or when the riots burn down your store?

Nope. Doesn't matter. Get beyond it if you can folks. It's a waste of time.

Now, instead of who's to blame, you should be spending your time thinking, how can I survive this disaster?

Looky there - lead story on yahoo finance right now:

The D-word: Will recession become something worse?

It may not be another Depression, but it might be another depression

Bukko Boomeranger said...

I agree with Prisoner No. 6 -- the only people who are going to be happy with the Bush Depression will be the gravediggers. There will be a lot of people who will die before their time because of this.

I wish all of you good luck and long lives, even the bittersick anonymous who posts repeatedly. May you live long enough to see how wrong you are, mate.

I am on the riot team and for the first time since I was trained/certified in handling riots 17 years ago, we are constantly practicing every Thursday, Friday and Saturday and they are expanding the riot team and the gas team. God, I can't believe that all of this is happening. We have about 30,000 cops and a population of 8 million. If things get out of hand then it will be every man and woman for themselves. Absolutely freaking crazy!"

"Keith, I love how you blame Bush for this. It was Clinton who got the ball rolling. He is the one who forced the banks to loan money to the poor and minorities who could not normally qualify for loans. Next at fault is the idiots who took the loans. Next at fault is the government as a whole for not letting the banks collapse. Next at fault is the fractional reserve banking itself."

Please can we finally dispell this nonsense from rw radio? Fannie Freddie loans are well performing. 84% of the non-performing loans are private banks under no directive from fannie or freddie or congress. These banks spent 10s of millions lobbying repubs to get regs dropped so they could get in on the "action" Hint: you have to prove income for a fannie freddie loan, no stated income docs except from the private banks. get it?

Steve Sailer has written extensively on the subprime mortgage issue.
He traced it to Jimmy Carter all the way to G W Bush.

Groups like ACORN used their muscle with the government to hold a gun to the heads of banks ensuring they would lend money to minorities at certain levels.

This caused this mortgage meltdown.

Check it out, the numbers look convincing.

seriously

the sidelines are the only place I feel good about right now

I want this recovery to start. Unfortunately we only have this planet, and no matter how well you prepared, if the planet is on fire, there are no jobs and all the money has gone away, there will be no safe haven.

"and my only hope right now is this is all planned. "

And my big question is, what/where would that get us?

If it's your Only Hope, don't you want to explain it a little better?

Pfffffffffffffffft.

keith don't you get it yet? there will be no recovery. what do you think it means when you say you want a recovery to start? let me as you? how would this start? today on cnbc they were talking about european banks and one of the guest talking heads said that the european central banks have 23 trillion with a t in bad assets? what does this mean? what does this mean to you keith? we are at game set match. no more recovery vis a vis, as days gone by. we are in uncharted territory now.

the world as we have known it most of our lives is changing and fast. gone will be the middle class. it will be the haves and the have nots and constant turmoil and confusion and hunger and pestilence. i wish i could be more nicer about it. but i can't. i have been saying this now for 4 years and now , now some of the sheep are listening. they have no choice now with their 401k's and their ira's dying before their very eyes and those dreams of kicking back and soaking up some rays in sunny florida are now just some pipe dream. the money that the baby boomers have saved up all those years while working is being systematically stolen. there will be no recovery like in days gone by. cash is a good place to be right now but for how long, that is the question. remember, cash is fiat. it means nothing. it never has. only hard currency in your possession is the only way to go. of course in england things are i am sure different than in the states. such is life...the spirit of washington adams jefferson and franklin are alive in this nation. they are here now. waiting for us to act......

Anyone making travel plans to Kiev?

Bring your own cash.

The fall of Ukraine will come to dominate the news (here, not in the US where Idol is on) in a few weeks. Because it will go like dominoes - first Ukraine, then Latvia, then Estonia, then Bulgaria...

And I bet none of you care.

Ukraine risks unrest as ills worsen

Olexander Pavlenko, a young computer programmer, is one of tens of thousands of Ukrainians who cannot get their money out of the bank.

He stood in line in Kiev at Nadra Bank and Ukrprombank, two big troubled banks, planning to withdraw more than $10,000 (€7,950, £7,125). But like many others, he was told the cash was not available.

“I stood in line a couple times with other bank clients who were protesting, crying and screaming. But the bank told me: ‘Sorry, we simply don’t have the money now and can’t help you.’”

I'm not one for biblical references, but something I have found morbidly fascinating for a while is the consumer barcode. Go and find a consumer product with a normal sized barcode on it - box of tissue, whatever. Notice the two thin lines to start the barcode off, and the two at the end? Now see in the middle the two thin lines separating the numbers? These are in ever barcode. The two thin lines represent the number 6. So each barcode has, you guessed it, the number of the beast in it, 666. Perhaps this is a hint that a consumerism based society is evil. Interesting, don't you think?

Honestly, no. That's going to be a huge problem. How in the hell are we going to get enough food?

It's all just a conspiracy theory - these things don't exist - la la la la la la.

OK, OK, they might exist but they're just harmless little groups of elite financiers and government types. They don't actually do anything they just get together to sip tea and eat cucumber sandwiches... la la la la la...

OK OK, they do something but they're not interested in consolidating power for the global elite and global domination of natural resources and the human population. That's just crazy talk. We live in a democracy. I vote. I make a difference.

Hope and Change!!!

Brian Miller said...

Gee I wonder why?

For similar reasons that Obama is polling at 60%. Lots of hope and the impulse to "come together in the face of adversity."

Bush came way, way down, and there's no reason why the same dynamic can't and won't happen to Obama as well.

My core point.

Keith, your bumming me out man... things are not nearly as bad as you are making them out to be. Yeah, they are very bad I agree, but we have not even jumped into the fear territory as of yet in my opinion. Will it get as dire and as ugly as you suggest? Perhaps, but not anytime soon. We still have a decade to go.

Off course Fraudbama is not helping matters any. I hope I don't have to see Timmy again for at least one year. Boy he turns my stomach!!!

Peace out...

keith, i know you want to give bo a chance -- and i did too -- but how many more stupid things does he have to say, moronic policies offered, and tax cheats hired before you scream UNCLE!!

obama, thanks for giving your subjects equity investment advice. of course you know it's a good time to buy stocks because you're an ivy-educated lawyer and, more importantly, our messiah!

thank you all knowing one..i'll be going long tomorrow morning!
