At Fox News protest, Texas Governor Rick Perry again threatens secession, after his party and fellow Texan wrecked America

"There's a lot of different scenarios. We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot."

- Texas Governor Rick Perry, obviously confused at who wrecked America, April 15, 2009

(and please Rick, pretty please, leave. You and your state are no longer wanted)

Rick Perry is a fake conservative. Rick Perry attends the Bilderberg meetings. He's a globalist with a bad Texan accent.

Rick Perry at BilderbergJust another cog in the false left/right paradigm.

I woke up in the middle of last night thinking about what would happen if Texas seceded...

I don't think Obama would send the U.S. military to stop it. I reckon he'd not want to set off a slaughter that would result in the death of millions. I'd bet that the other Confederate states, with the possible exception of northern Virginia (although with the inclusion of West Virginia) would join in a new confederacy. They might even pick up parts of southern Ohio and Indiana. Alaska would go off on its own. The rest of the states would probably see the wisdom of staying together in a political entity.

There would be a substantial population shift like the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947 over the following decade. Christers, gun maniacs and racists would migrate to the new confederacy, where they would be free to hate and kill minorities. A new confederacy would have "open carry" gun laws and "self-defense" shooting rights, so people could legally kill anyone they thought was "threatening" them. That would mean white people had hunting licenses for blacks, gays, Mexicans and anyone else who did not shoot them down first. The murder rate would be incredible! Liberals, blacks, gays, Jews and anyone else who did not want to live in a Wild West free-for-all would move North.

Secession would immediately spell doom for the U.S. dollar, because the new governments would weasel out of the U.S. Treasury debt. Both "Americas'" standard of living would fall by 75%, because they would be on a "barter as you go" standard for oil and any other imported products.

The American military would immediately have to withdraw from all its overseas bases, because the troops from the newly divided countries would return to "defend" them. As the new confederacy sunk into population collapse and economic deprivation, its militias would attack northern states. I wouldn't be surprised to see an army of Chinese "peacekeepers" protecting the north (and also protecting their investments there.) While it would be sad to see parts of the U.S. occupied by Chinese, there would be some satisfaction of knowing that the new Johnny Rebs were getting their comeuppance from the Asians.

If it went on long enough, the new confederacy would become a savage land where the only law was the gun. "Wadda yew mean I gotta have a licence tag on mah pickup truck? I am a sovereign nation unto myself, officer! I don't need no stinkin' license! Blam, blam!"

After a few decades, when the southern population was down to a couple hundred thousand citizens due to migration, murder and starvation, the survivors would petition to rejoin the other northern states. That, or the Chinese would move in and make it a new colony.

Oh, the possibilities are endless, if Fake-Hairy Perry and Chuck Norris secede. I get so excited thinking about them that I can't sleep! It's hella fun, though.

Exactly!
You beat me to it. Well said!

A lot of co-opting going on... by Fox News, Glen Beck et al.
They take the energy of the masses and steer them into their pre-planned agenda while obfuscating what they are actually up to.

After the Vietnam War, China attacked Vietnam thinking they'd be weak from the years of war with the US. China got its ass kicked by Vietnam.

China doesn't have the ability to invade Taiwan. There is no chance of them putting troops in Canada or the US.

China likes to beat up on unarmed Tibetans and any other unarmed civilians. They wouldn't be able to control armed Canadians or Americans.

China is also dumb enough to continue investing in the dollar. If the US collapses, so goes their foreign currency reserves.

Until China takes Taiwan, I won't consider them a threat to the US.

Besides, China has its own troubles. They may collapse before we do if the global economy continues to tank.

I don't think Texans have the guts to secede.

This is all show. This is the GOP's plan to reinvigorate the party. Watch Rick Perry's approval raiting go sky high among disenchanted Americans because of this stunt.

I bet Rick Perry will run for the US Presidency in 2012.

Prove me wrong Gov. Perry and Texans, secede.

Some of the comments on this topic are insane.

What is wrong with you people? Do you not want to keep the rights that were given to you by the founders of this nation you supposedly love?

-It is your right to keep arms
-The constitution was written in such a way to limit federal authority, not give it unlimited power.
-taxes were only to be in times of war.

Look at what we have become! We are moving toward the very thing we fought the cold war against. How can you people stand by and let this happen to our country and think those who would stand up for what this country was founded upon are crazy? I think some of you need to read the constitution and re-assess who is crazy here.

Larry King Live on CNN with Donald Trump interview last night:

Partial Interview:

King: How do you assess Barack Obama?

Trump: Well, I really like him. I think that he's working very hard. He's trying to rebuild our reputation throughout the world. The previous administration was a total disaster, a total catastrophe.

And, you know, the world looks at us differently than they used to. ... He was handed a pretty bad deck of cards. And I'm not saying I agree with everything he's doing. ... I do agree with what they're doing with the banks. Whether they fund them or nationalize them, it doesn't matter, but you have to keep the banks going.

King: Why don't patriots want to pay taxes?

Trump: Well, I don't know that that's necessarily unpatriotic. I think they want to pay taxes.

Obviously, you have to pay taxes. But they want to pay a reasonable tax, and they don't want to see the money squandered. Money in this country is being squandered.

King: OK. But then we would debate reasonable.

Trump: Well, you always debate reasonable. I think unreasonable is the war in Iraq. I mean, there's $1 trillion right there. And, more importantly, thousands of people -- both on our side and the other side -- hundreds of thousands of people killed and maimed and so badly hurt, I think it's just a shame. Now, to me, that's unreasonable.

And, by the way, ... Saddam Hussein did not knock down the World Trade Center.

********************************

Woooooouuuuu!!!

Man, its sure is good to hear "the truth" from a top level "All American" businessman!

Mr Trump, you rock!

Thank you for not drinking their evil kool-aid. When I get some extra cash, I'll be staying the weekend at your new Trump tower hotel in Chicago. Thank you!

You know what gets me really mad. It's couch potato day time TV watchers getting pumped full of left of center thought while watching shows like The View, Oprah, Rosy O'Donnel (is she still on), you get the picture.

Lets look at The View. Barbara leans left, there are three big gun fast talking far lefties and one righty, and The audience is always distinctly to the left.

This sends a powerful message to Mr and Mrs mindless couch potato. Agree or be shunned.

Then later they turn on the letterman and o'brien shows and get more of the same. Now THAT'S mind control bitches. And they never even know it.

Is there any outrage over this? Nope. Not a word. Not a care. Hypocrites.

He gave a speech at the tea party yesterday saying he didn't want to secede, also on the local news he has taken 17 billion in stimulus money but refused 500 million for unemployment from the fed gov.

For those whom aren't from here, he was flat-out caught taking a bribe from big pharma to pass the controversial hpv for girls and has been known to sign legislation in those big mega churches, lots of those in Texas. No-one did a thing about the bribe either.

He's basically untouchable and he goes with the money as he's a big proponent of the Nafta super highway that absolutely no-one wants here. All in all, he's just a really great guy and will say anything to get re-elected, sound familiar? Maybe your typical scum politician, totally corrupt, but he fools everyone with his charm, like a good front man should?

So, you see, he has credibility issues, like all of them and as usual everyone overlooks the most important pieces of the puzzle, I don't know why so many are conned by these guys. It appears that there is an organized crime element to the super highway project as well as the toll roads here in Texas. In other words, you have something that is rightfully yours and they want it, and they'll lie every way possible to get it, even charm you with their confidence game. And when the law and government also go along for the ride, just where does that leave us, yes, S.O.L.

Few people notice the lives these f*cks ruin, because it isn't on the idiot box, but you know, there is a place in hell for every last one of them, I hope.

Keith,

Rick Perry is running for reelection against Kay Bailey Hutchinson. This is all for show.

OTOH, a US without Texas would leave us in a bad, bad predicament. So much of our oil comes thru there. Wind power. Many big manufacturing hubs are there. No Texas would kill this economy. The state of Texas is far more important to the US than at least 45 other states. Even you have to realize that.

Humble Trader said...

Well Keith, if you think the massive Obama stimulus is fixing America, you are suffering from profound delusion.

The Bushies and assorted neocons messed things up, but they did so with the help of far-left liberals and neo-libs.

And now the latter two groups lead us in the White House and the Congress.

They have you and others convinced that doing far more of what was done under Dubya will set things right. It HAS to work because it's THEM -- so very enlightened -- who are doing it.

Ron Paul is right! said...

You're losing your way and begining to look like a tool shed. If I were a Texan and knowing we throw up numbers like his, I'd want to secede from the losers too. Why go down with the sinking ship when you can clearly do better on your own? Oh, one more thing, Texas is one of only 6 states NOT facing a budget deficit. Seems like they know how to keep their house in order to me.

The economy of Texas is one of the largest growing economies in the United States. In 2006, Texas was home to six of the top 50 companies on the Fortune 500 list and 56 overall, more than any other state. Texas has an economy that was the second largest in the nation and the 15th largest in the world based on GDP (nominal) figures. As the largest exporter of goods in the United States, Texas currently grosses more than $100 billion a year in trade with other nations.

Texas's growth can be attributed to the availability of jobs, the low cost of housing, the lack of a personal state income tax, the quality of higher education, low taxation and limited regulation of business, a central geographic location, a limited government, favorable weather, and plentiful supplies of oil and natural gas. There are currently 33 billionaires residing in Texas today. Dallas has 11 billionaires, the most of any city in Texas.
As to whether Perry is fake and this is all a show, well of course it is. Politics is all show. But for you to post crap about kicking Texas out and they are worthless and don't do anything of value, etc, etc, etc. Well its incorrect. According to the numbers, they are #15 in the world.

And no I am not from Texas, don't really like what I've seen of Texas. Too damn hot for me. I hate the Cowboy's and love it when they choke. Just hopped on today and noticed some things that were really out there. Zero regard for common sense. Such as, "They probably account for 10% of the GDP of the US, and about 2% of the brainpower."

Why would you want to kick out a state that accounts for 10% of your money and is one of only 6 of the 50 states, that doesn't need a handout? That's just not logical. Unless, of course, your blog is dying and you are on a fishing expidition.

By all means, send them away!

But before they go, they just need to pay $33,000 per capita to clear their portion of the U.S. debt.

And give up any military equipment and supplies, they belong to the U.S.

And like others said, take a few other red states with you, like Utah.

Let's start a PAC! I'll make up the signs and bumper stickers:

Where and why did you bail on him? And why do you refuse to see that as long as endorse Obama you have embraced everything that you have written against for years.

Your in a big orgy bed with Obama, Rham, Hillary, Pelosi, Dodd, Blago and Frank. Look out Keith Frank is coming in from behind, get out before it is too late.

"There are currently 33 billionaires residing in Texas today."

This is a very revealing statistic...

Is it any wonder that Texas is a 'driving force' in the fraudulent 'war on terror' scam?

We are picking up the tab for THEIR wars in Irag and Afghanistan!

What a God-forsaken hell-hole Texas is...serving as a 'safe haven' for a bunch of greedy, egotistical, maniacal oligarchs that have driven this country into a fiscal black hole to salisfy their cravings for empire.

Unfortunately for them, in the universal laws of karma-driven justice, every innocent, non-combatic, 'collateral damage' life lost due to their blind ambitions is worth 100 times the value of their putrid existence.

This pretty much guarantees them a long, slow journey through the bowels of hell.

Have a nice trip, motherf*ckers!

Regardless of radical rhetoric, the Socialist power grab is quite real and is a serious threat to a number of issues that I consider to be cherished American institutions: free speech, the right to own and maintain private property, the right to keep and bear arms, and most importantly the American Dream itself. Keith I'll wager that you can no longer define the American Dream in a way that is recognizable to most citizens.

Keith,
I have to disagree with you. I am from LA as of a year 1/2 ago. I came to Houston as it was the only way I could make as much $ as I did in CA and afford a house. I am a programmer and I made great money back in Cali but coud not afford to live there! I researched Houston very well, I kept in mind what used to be said back on HousingPanic. I bought a house under 3x my income, we have schools that I could never have dreamed of sending my kids to back in la, the people are nice, polite even (yes we have hicks, but not everyone is a hick or redneck). I did NOT see the race wars going on here that we did in LA (now THAT was getting scary in LA!) You have been bad mouthing Texas and Houston and I don't like it. and yes while they are not perfect, I am gonna call it like I see it and say that TX has been very good to me and my family in general and Houston in particular. You don't have to like it, and I sure as hell don't like the idea of a wackjob governor seceding us from the union, as an Angeleno I was scared that Houston would be a backwater but I was surprised to the plus side to find almost everything better here than back in L.A. but I am gonna have to disagree with you and will every time you bad mouth Houston with a false premise.

And another thing,
I heard a saying when I first got to TX that "The rest of the country needs Texas, but Texas doesn't need the rest of the country!". In Tx there is Oil (of course), ports, their colleges are top notch (researched that too being a grad student), some of the finest hospitals in the world are here, there are scientists that work at Nasa, there is alot to be said about what TX has to offer. I wasn't born here in TX, trust me when I say that I can not stand rednecks (served in the USAF with them, don't like them), but for californians who think like I used to think, that tx was a backwater sh*thole run by biblethumping, gun toting illiterate rednecks, they're just wrong, like I was. You say you have been down here to Houston, and like downtown LA you want to avoid the inner city, but have you tried visiting the "bedroom communities"?

Regardless of radical rhetoric, the Socialist power grab is quite real and is a serious threat to a number of issues that I consider to be cherished American institutions: free speech, the right to own and maintain private property,LOL you're confused. It's the FASCIST REPUBLICANS that have nearly DISMANTLED EACH of these rights and many more in the last 12 years.

For starters, google "souter eminent domain"

Do you PREFER fascism? Do you like where it's gotten us so far in the last few years?

the right to keep and bear arms, How about the right not to get SHOT TO DEATH standing at the ATM, or in elementary school, idiot????? Or the right not to have every street corner be like the ol' wild west whether or not your team just won the big game. Oh, I guess that would be a PRIVILEDGE...

and most importantly the American Dream itself. The A.D. is for SAVERS, not SPENDERS. For WORKERS, not WHINERS AND SCHEMERS. For LEARNERS, not CHEATERS. For PEACE LOVERS, not ARROGANT, FASCIST WAR MONGERS.

I'm very nearly the only one left that qualifies, I think.

I'm partially serious, and partly trying to troll the right-wingers.

My serious point is, secession would be disastrous. The various bits of America WOULD become, as one anonymous commenter frequently says, "a turd world nation." The trouble is, the U.S. has an angry, armed minority, centred in Southern states, which is all for that. Not a good thing. I'd like to move back to the United States when I retire. The more dis-United they are, the slimmer my chances of doing that.
