Police probing death of Freddie Mac official

Kellermann’s death apparent suicide; company under investigation

WASHINGTON - The chief financial officer of money-losing mortgage giant Freddie Mac was found dead in his basement early Wednesday morning in what police said was an apparent suicide.

David Kellermann, 41, apparently hung himself, said a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation. He asked not to be identified because the investigation was ongoing.

Kellermann’s death is the latest in a string of blows to Freddie Mac since it was seized by the government last September. The company, which owns or guarantees about 13 million mortgages, has been criticized for financing risky loans that fueled the real estate bubble and are now defaulting at a record pace.

I just wish someone would tell me what to make of it all.

...Bank regulators are hoping to quell concerns about the stress test by...offering guidance on how the results should be interpreted...Oops.

It's a sad state of affairs in our society when anonymous blogs, written by anybody online, offer us a better chance of learning what is really going on than the MSM.

They are supposed to be protecting OUR interests>>>FAIL.

This is going to come out...it's just a matter of time. From an Inman article:

"David Kellermann -- Freddie Mac's former acting chief financial officer, found dead at his home in Virginia Wednesday (see story) -- was among company employees investigators were hoping to question, but was not a target of the probe, the Washington Post reported today, citing unnamed sources." - not a target my ass.

This certainly looks suspecious. I be his wife knows. Someone needs to protect her.

He probably told her that if he ends up dead this is who did it.

She knows.

This guy didn't hang himself or shoot himself. This is a mob hit by the U.S. Gov't.

I haven't heard anything about a suicide note.

No way he hangs himself in the basement without some message to his wife and daughter.

The Money is what OWNS the MSM.

was he shot or hung?He knew too much.

Apparently it's far more important that CNN find out whether Palin's baby daddy had sex in their house.

We live in a banana republic.

Funny, just watched Frost/Nixon last night (great flick btw) and noticed this morning some news of Paulson and Bernanke forcing Ken Lewis to do the Merril deal, and I thought the EXACT same thing.

Thing is, it's not like the 60' & 70's anymore. People are apethetic about their government being corrupt to the core. So long as Captain Lightbulb sends everyone cheese, the story would blow over in a week or less.

I'm thinking of a post tomorrow that Ken Lewis should be immediately arrested for admitted and verifiable securities fraud and Sarbanes Oxley violations, with Paulson and Bernanke arrested as accomplices.

But that would involve America having a functioning justice department or SEC, so I'm thinking instead of writing about Palin's baby daddy. Since that's all anyone cares about in the new banana republic they used to call America.

Don't bother.

There is NO JUSTICE is America.

There is no more America in America.

America Died, the body was burned and was thrown in a dumpster.

Good Night and Good Luck.

This guy was too financially astute to nullify his life insurance with an obvious suicide.

Very suspicious...

Here's a possible scenario:

He was going to 'blow the whistle' on a federally-mandated dumping of toxic mortgages onto Freddie's balance sheets to help the banksters show improved earnings?

"This guy was too financially astute to nullify his life insurance with an obvious suicide."

The guy (Kellerman) worked for Freddie Mac for 16 years. The suicide clause in most life insurance contracts expires after two years. I know someone who got such a payout.

Or do you have it on good authority (no blogs please, I like people with first and last names) that Kellerman's life insurance will not pay out?

Watergate, hehe. Imagine if all this had happened before the advent of the internet. There would be MORE lying, cheating, and stealing. I suspect Mozilo (aka DOPES!!!) periodically checks in on Keith's blog for a good laugh.

Who says the media is supposed to be protecting our interests? That's just the myth you've been led to believe through countless movies and books that depict courageous reporters fighting corruption to reveal the truth. Reporters like those do exist but they are rarely able to share their reportage in the mass media.

The media serves the interests of it's owners. With the monopolized mass corporate media we have today why are you surprised that it lies to you each and every day?

Suicide doesn't automatically nullify life insurance. Different states have different rules.

Could we maybe talk Woodward and Bernstein into coming out of retirement for this one? Nah, after their Pulitzers, best-sellers, millions of royalties, etc., they just aren't hungry enough anymore. I just pray there are some young hungry journalists getting all over this..real soon.
But be real careful, guys. Even Deep Throat hid in the parking garage.

Yes, please do the Ken Lewis thing.
He's starting to come apart at the seams. He's starting to talk.
Hammer it home and see when he spills his gutts. He's too much of a wimp to commit suicide.

I dunno. I can't read other peoples' minds. But when a young man only 41 years old with a wife and young daughter, easy going personality, great sense of humor (according to friends and coworkers), dedicated to his career, and has his whole life ahead of him, finds the need to put a violent end to all that, something is very very messed up. VERY messed up. WOOD-STEIN!!!

"...far more important that CNN find out whether Palin's baby daddy had sex in their house..."To borrow a phrase from the Levi/Larry King interview: We would tell you why we offed these fall-guys, but we're too much the gentlemen; we don't kill and tell.

So many people are dying seemingly as a result of the crash. This guy, and a few others in the last couple of months. And the man who killed his wife and daughters in a Maryland hotel room, who apparently was on the verge of being discovered as a ponzi schemer. What does it all mean? It's really getting scary out there.

This one certainly does invite speculation. It doesn't add up.

Kellerman had no real 'reason' that we can discern.

Depression can make someone do this absent any external pressures. But depression doesn't usually just seize you at age 41.

So if it was depression then he should have had a history of depression.

But if he had a history of depression it would seem very difficult to rise to the position of CFO, even at Freddie, especially at a relatively young age (41).

Murder just makes more sense given that he was among the group that was seeking higher accounting standards at Freddie Mac.

But I'm reluctant to jump to the conclusion of murder since I think CSI already did this plot.

buh buh buh ... isn't the damn liberal press the problem, and aren't we supposed to be singing and dancing in the streets now that they're all going away?

You mean that having big corporations control all we see and hear is maybe not the best way to get to the truth of massive crimes committed by these same interlocking boards of directors?

How can that be? All the blondes with big gazongas on Fox tell me that it's all the liberal's fault, and that an independent press just lies to me anyway. They don't ever talk about actually doing an investigation of big corporations on Fox.

On Fox, Big Corporate Daddy is your friend. Go back to sleep. Everything will be OK, now that those damn meddling liberal rags are going under.

The fact that Kellermann was an executive at Freddie Mac has to bring into question a variety of conspiracy theories
