Is Dick Cheney pretty much finishing off the GOP?

It actually is quite strange. Cheney pretty much destroyed the country - took us into a stupid war, and led us into a horrific once-in-a-generation financial disaster.

Pretty much couldn't have f*cked up any worse.

His approval rating is just north of spit. He may actually be the most despised and hated person in America today.

You'd figure the Republican Party would order him back into his cave. That he'd just disappear, like Bush.

But nooooooo.. He's EVERYWHERE. Like he's gonna run in 2012 or something. He IS the face of the GOP.

And the Republican Party dies even more every day.

So, in the end, keep blabbing Dick. For the first time, you're actually doing the nation a service.

You're making sure the GOP is dead.

Ding dong. Dead.

Cheney attacks may not help GOP

To the chagrin, perhaps, of Republicans looking to rebuild the tattered party, Dick Cheney has grabbed the spotlight.

The recurring theme of the once-reclusive and largely unpopular former vice president: President Barack Obama has put Americans in danger of a new terrorist attack by promising to close the Guantanamo Bay prison and banning torture.

When Obama took office, former President George W. Bush went quietly to his new house in Texas, slipped intentionally into anonymity and honored protocol by staying silent about his successor.

But Cheney, widely remembered for heading to undisclosed secure locations at times of national crisis and for working invisibly behind the scenes, has done just the opposite.

I love it. Hope he goes hunting with some friends again too.

Maybe he's on the Democratic Party payroll now running about pissing in every Republican well in creation.

The evidence that we tortured prisoners in order to prove a non-existent casus belli in Iraq is mounting.

Mind-boggling.

It's one thing to torture to "save American lives" (Cheney's words) - quite another to justify a pre-emptive war.

I don't believe in Hell. But if I did, Cheney would be headed straight there.

How dare he do this to our country.

Everyone knows that Cheney is praying for a terrorist attack to happen. That way he can say, "I told you so".

This is why he is being so open and in the spotlight. He is hoping for a miracle and that miracle is a terrorist attack on the U.S.

The funny thing is if it did happen, the GOP WOULD BE BACK! Everyone knows that this is exactly what the GOP is counting on to come back from the dead.

The River Card being played and the GOP IS PRAYING for a Win all or nothing!

I read the original article in the Washington Post online. What surprised me that in a piece ostensibly focusing on how former realPresident Dickless was dragging DOWN the GOP, who was quoted? One anonymous GOP source talking smack about King Dick, vs. Mary Matalin and his skanky daughter DEFENDING the bastard. Supposedly "negative" story with two positive sources vs. one anti-Dick. Yet delusional right-wingers still think the corporate media is "liberal."

Once the Republican Party is dead, then it will be safe to start destroying the corrupt corporate "Democratic" party that greases bankers' accounts and covers up torture. The day can't come soon enough. Unfortunately, it won't happen until there's massive social chaos first.

Cheney is one of the few Republicans left with a brain. Too bad he cannot run for president.

So much better than the neo-fascist now in office. I gag every time I hear him speak. It is like living in a nightmare world and I can't wake up.

Hope that remark doesn't land me in the reeducation camp they are going to build in all those foreclosed homes in FL.

I think Cheney 'surfaces' when a defense appropriations bill is up for passage.

It's his job to focus public attention on the bogus terrorist threat until congress does the dirty deed for the MIC fraudsters and passes the funding bill.

If it wasn't those dastardly terrorists, a trillion bucks a year for defense would look pretty wasteful.

Of course, KBR/Halliburton is on the receiving end.

Not to mention his wife's favorite: Lockheed Martin.

And we can be sure his *compensation* is wired directly to their tax-exempt, off-shore bank account(s).

You gotta give ol' dick credit - he knows how to shake the federal money tree for a pile of cash...

Blah blah blah....

Keith, for any given fuck-up, fraud, crime, et al... there are MANY "people" responsible.

It's human nature to try to deduce things down to the simplest.

Now shape up, and start blaming all the other assholes, too.

Just more of the same. No substance, just offense against the democrat enemy. That's all these idiots have known how to do. Amazing this approach got them into power. Is it not blatantly obvious that this latest offensive is merely an attempt to insert the pretension that the judgment of installing torture was sound? I suppose it isn't obvious, to the 51% that voted this genius into power in 04.

You know what's really pathetic, Keith? The fact that 100 days after this criminal has left office, we have allowed a new one to be ushered in to make a bad situation catastrophically worse - and yet you choose to focus on the prior set of criminals. When are you going to get a new set of villains? Seriously. At what point are you actually going to start paying attention to the guy who has run up more debt in 100 days than Bush did in one year? When there's no food left on the shelves and 10 year bonds are yielding 15%? At that point, might it occur to you that, "Geez, I've been spending the first 100 days of a new presidency bashing the guy we just threw out and ignoring the idiot who is giving the final death blow to a country on life support?"

Your blind devotion to the lesser of two very scary evils will be your undoing. As we fall deeper into depression, and as you continue to either ignore (or excuse Obama), I think you will notice your readership drop precipitously.

At first I thought you were just naive. Now I think you are seriously deluded. In a year, the final choice will be insanity.

Here's Chuck Todd, pretty much a straight-shooter in my book:

Things for the Republicans are bad, very bad. It is worse than just about any Republican wants to admit.

The party is defined too much by social issues and the brands of Bush and Cheney, rather than by what some in the party wish to define it by, mainly, limited government, personal freedom and a strong national defense.

The sad part is Cheney is EXACTLY is the type of leader that 25% of the USA wants. Cheney-lovers define their life through war and military action. To them, the USA is supposed to do one thing and one thing only...blow stuff up and put the footage on CNN. Who needs jobs, economic growth, health care, or even culture or shared ideas? Those things are for wimps who read books. The USA about is thickburgers, big trucks, big houses, and about that sexy footage of a JDAM landing on a house. Cheney also knows that a good chunk of America is conditioned to take anything said by an old white guy in a nice suit as gospel. Cheney will always have worshipers becuase he reminds them of their belt-swinging daddy or their beer-bellied football coach. Don't you sass him you young whipersnappers or you'll get your backside beat! And of course is the abuse of the word "tough". "Tough" used to mean people who were able to endure great hardship to get something accompished or who kept their word no matter what. Now it means old guys who sit at a nice desk in a cushy office and sign papers ordering young people to their deaths and then hitting the golf course. Cheney is the face of that bitter America that has been growling with anger over the counterculture of the 1960s and is determined to teach those "hippies" a lesson.

Praying? No, my friend, sadly he's planning it. Just like he conspired with God knows what scum to have 9/11 happen. Believe me, he didn't know exactly what was going to take place on 9/11 (he probably was just hoping for a simple hijacking scare), but he knew something big needed to happen so he could fulfill his wet dream of invading Iraq and "remodeling" the middle east in his likeness and so he could make a shitload of money for him and Halliburton and secure the 2004election. He's evil.

They all agree with you on both the 'war against Islamo homicidal maniacs' and Dick Cheney.

Last I checked their economies aren’t doing any better then ours, and for them the downturn is just beginning.

What do you hardcore fake conservative Repugnic*nts think of the fact that the one family in the US that is tightest with the Bin Laden family is the BUSH FAMILY?

What do make of the fact that they are in business together?

What do make of the fact that Bush 41 is career CIA and was recruited into the CIA back in his Yale days?

What do you make of the fact that Osama Bin Laden was financed by the CIA when the Mujahideen was established to fight the Russians in Afghanistan?

Here's Obama's chief foreign policy advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski giving the Mujahideen boys an inspirational speech back in the 80s:

Brzezinski and the Mujahideen Boys.

It’s called using all the tools in our war chest.

When necessary we leverage existing kooks on the ground, other times those same kooks get outta hand and we take them out (when we can)

It’s a basic strategy to protect our children’s lives.

It may seem MANLIER to send your own babies in front of tanks but we prefer to keep them in school and hire an enemy temporarily to stand in front of tanks.

Not every friggin thing is a hallucinogenic conspiracy.

Oh I see. So the Bush family are using their connections to save your children's lives because they are such altruistic America loving individuals? Is that what you're trying to say?

Know anything about the Bush family financing the Nazis and involvement in an attempted military coup here in the USA?

No, you probably know absolutely nothing about it. Just keep listening to Rush and Hannity.

I don't know why I always have to go and do the digging here. It's not that hard to use GOOGLE to verify information y'know...

I'm not going to spend an hour to dredge up every reference I can find. I'm assuming you know how to use Google. Here are some links to get you started:

The Whitehouse Coup.

Fox News: Prescott Bush and Fritz Thiessen.

There are plenty of good books that cover this information in detail. Try "George Bush: The Unauthorized Biography" by Webster Griffin Tarpley and "Family of Secrets" by Russ Baker.

After Halliburton's CEO Cheney, it's nice to have a VP that's pretty much flat broke. Look at the bright side, many of you have more saved up than the VP of the United States:

The White House also released Vice President Joe Biden's new personal financial report. It shows Biden and his wife Jill have at least $119,000 to $615,000 in assets and $185,000 to $430,000 in debt.

Hey Gonzo -- I don't agree with a lot of what you say, but you're spot-on about the Bush/Nazi connection.

My wife's currently well into reading her second book -- I think it's "Family of Secrets" by Russ Baker -- about how the Bush/Brown/Prescott clan has been involved with all sorts of fascist shit since before the coup conspiracy that Gen. Smedley Butler blew the whistle on. I'm not bothering to read this well-documented book. I already know those fuckers are evil.

You can't educate a Bush cult member about the truth, any more than you can educate a Moonie or some guru follower. They have chosen to be brainwashed. It's why Orwell used the line "Ignorance is Strength" in "1984." They can strongly believe in lies because they cling to their ignorance.

Good onya for trying to show this anonymous idiot what the truth is, but it's not worth the effort. I prefer to just abuse dimwits like that, when I waste the time to respond to them at all. It doesn't make them any smarter, but it makes me feel a little better.
