Lindsay Graham smells the coffee: "The truth is we lost young people because our Republican brand is tainted"

Not only is the GOP brand 'tainted', it's poisoned. It's cancer. It's radioactive. It disgusts people, and scares little children.

"Do you really believe that we lost 18-to-34-year-olds by 19 percent, or we lost Hispanic voters, because we are not conservative enough? No. This is a ridiculous line of thought. The truth is we lost young people because our Republican brand is tainted."

-Senator Lindsay Graham, dead-GOP, April 30, 2009

It will take a couple of middle class tax increases by the Democrats before the Republicans regain power.

With the crazy spending in D.C. it should only take a few years before middle class tax increases arrive.

Why is the US government GPS marking every front door in the USA?

Obama and ACORN GPS Marking EVERY Front Door in America?.

Any ideas? Any concern? Or are we going to continue to whine about this party or that party and get caught up in the whole two-party charade?

This is hardcore tyranny that we are seeing being implemented before our very eyes. America has already been looted to the tune of trillions. We are in a great depression. The state is merging with corporations which is the very definition of fascism. The Constitution is being subverted at every level.

One more notch on the WHO meter and we will be in martial law.

Bush set up the faux legal framework in the form of the Patriot Act, John Warner Defense Authorization Act and Military Commissions Act and Obama is executing on those laws. If you don't know what I'm talking about you better start learnin real fast.

This is not America - any more.

"it should only take a few years before middle class tax increases arrive."

And I know you can't wait until that happens.

Tell me, were you that prescient (look that word up) in the first 100 days of the Bush/Cheney administration?

If you were, why didn't you warn folks they had a President who was a complete fool and a criminal?

The fact that he's blaming the Republican "brand" just goes to show how clueless these Repubs are. Their brand is tainted because they are CORRUPT, INCOMPETENT FOOLS. Their brand will not change until THEY change, and at this point they don't appear to be willing to do that.

How would Linsay know? His head was so far up McCain's ass during the campaign he couldn't possibly have noticed anything. It wouldn't surprise me if he is the next Senator to jump the fence and join team D.

Americans no longer care about freedom, and they are more than happy to let Uncle Sam do everything short of wiping their asses (Bukko is already there down under LOL). Of course all of this manna from heaven has a price tag, and like the fine English gentleman said, eventually Obama and his posse will run out of the other people's money. Tilt, game over, revolution/civil war time.

So go ahead and laugh about the demise of the two party system here in the USA. You will rue the day when brutish force replaces civil disagreement, and the smoke you smell has that distinct odor of burning flesh.

When I read "we lost young people because our Republican brand is tainted" I honestly thought it was referring to the deaths of American soldiers in Iraq.

I thought he was acknowledging that the process had become so partisan, that Republicans backed an unjust war simply because a Republican President wanted it and party unity was valued over justice and American lives.

I know Democrats bear almost equal blame in that dogmatic march to war, but as I recall-- the Anti-American, jingoistic witch hunt was on for anyone who spoke up against the invasion.

That Anti-American witch hunt-- "if they're not FOR us, they're AGIN' us"-- came courtesy of the Republican Party.

They trotted it out again this past year in the election cycle. Fat lot of good it did them. Glad most people didn't fall for it again.

Keith, Republicans are toast. And they are no better then Democrats. Republicans had their chance and f'd it up. Now its the Dem's turn. They will f it up as well. Guaranteed. Both parties are so corrupt they're basically the same although they just differ in their areas of corruption.

Here, jerk off to this, i never thought it would happen but it looks like Tanzillo has got himself some legal trouble...

The government will eventually give up its stake in the banks and automakers. Only folks in tin foil bodysuits think otherwise. And, yes, if government grows and provides more public services, taxes will go up and not just for the top 1%. Overall, the tax system is relatively flat for the top 3/5 and less so for the botton 2/5. The effective rate is very porportional to the fraction of national income.

The Republican party has to hope for US economic failure or another attack or war to have a chance in 2010 and beyond. I think Dems and some independents will accept more taxes if they get something for it like universal healthcare.

Who cares which party is "alive" or dead. We have bigger problems than affiliation and part "purity". We have elected officials who are not doing their jobs: passing meaningful, effective legislation and serving as a power check against the President and Courts. Most in Congress have elementary level reading comprehension skills.

It's not flagpins. It's wholesale incompetence that should be scaring the hell out of us.

To err is human.

And the neoCON-influenced Republican Party certainly erred.

They erred over and over and over...with no admission of fault for the disastrous consequences of their errors.

They've exceeded the limits of human forgiveness and *richly* deserve our utmost contempt.

The Republican "brand" is 666.

They try to hide it, but it's displayed on all their products to those that read the fine print.

Um, no, Republidiot leaders, you lost young people because today's young people don't respond well to BIG BUSINESS, and that's exactly what the Grandstanding Opposing Party (a.k.a. the Limbaugh Party, a.k.a. the Party of Death)
has become: a "branded" big enterprise business franchise, marketed to those with money, complete with pushing their power around, exclusionary policies toward their own as though they were competitors, and aims to destroy the opposition instead of compromising and partnering with them, even over crucial common issues such as poverty, terror, and the econmomy.

They even have their own sales force, which consistently smears, lies and omits truth, logic and fact, as all commissioned salespeople do: Limbaugh, Coulter, Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, that clueless black chick, etc - I'm sure you know the rest.

And former CEO pro-temp, McCain, promised on his corporate website and in the second investment forum (debate), to charge more and put less cereal in the box (increase soc sec taxes and reduce benefits) so that he could increase corporate executive pay (make the tax cuts for the rich permanent.)

Typical stuff from the corporate class! Young people WILL NOT HAVE IT---as this failed corporation found out on Election Day.

Entire political parties as a brand. That's admitting the obvious. Parties use to be about platforms or solutions. Now its about merchandising and marketing yourselves like corn flakes.

All perception management, no real substance.

I meant to add to the end of my big business rant:

If they really want to "rebrand" their "product", perhaps instead of thinking of it as a product, they should think of it as PUBLIC SERVICE to the broader population of PEOPLE of ALL ethnicities and lifestyles.

Not just other corporations and their leaders. Sort of like, B2C (business to consumer) rather than B2B (business to business).

In fact, if the Republifascists decided to EMBRACE all stripes of people (gays, blacks, hispanics, poor, etc) instead of insulting, marginalizing and persecuting them, AND they kept their low-tax, low-spend, low-regulation stance, does anyone think they'd be NATIONALLY BEATABLE AT ALL, EVER???

Hey asshole, why don't you go out and start a business, hire some people, make a payroll, and pay Da Man his taxes? Then maybe you can come on forums like this and dispense advice. Grow the fu*k up or at least grow a brain.

Yes g&l, politics is now big business (even the Dems--but at least they are B2C.)

And as we've all seen from health care, medical research, banking, space technology, journalism, farming, etc, etc, ONCE AN INDUSTRY BECOMES DOMINATED BY BIG BUSINESS INSTEAD OF ENTREPRENURSHIP, IT IS LARGELY DESTROYED AS A BENEFIT TO SOCIETY.

Remember, doctor house calls? Jonas Salk? Woodward and Bernstein? George Bailey and the Bailey Building and Loan?

ALL GONE NOW.

fat American--

WOW another republidiot heard from...

WRONG asshole---I'm 45 years old, independent professional, investor class. Helped build manage an annual $6 million software product line. Board of Directors with an annual $1 million budget, in another case.

Grew up in a red state in a republican family--republican because they were small business owners.

Back when the Party Of No wasn't trying to DESTROY THE COUNTRY, THE ECONOMY, THE FREEDOMS, all to MAKE A BUCK.

But I guess YOU LIKE how things have gone in the past, oh, 6-8 years? How's your investment portfolio? Business net worth? Raw materials costs? A lot better than in the 90's, eh? LOL. You made this world, now live in it.

Idiots...

Oh and by the way, clueless limbaugh types:

IF YOU WANT LOWER CORPORATE TAXES, YOU HAVE TO STOP BOMBING THE WORLD.

Death and destruction cost money. The money's gotta come from somewhere, despite the SPEND-AND-DEBT republican theory that it can just be PRINTED WITHOUT END. GOT IT?

McCain said in one of the debates he wanted corporate taxes to be as low as those in Ireland.

LOLOLOL Okay then. LET'S HAVE A MILITARY THE SAME SIZE AS IRELAND'S. Oh, and while we're at it, LET'S HAVE CEO SALARIES BE THE SAME RATIO TO WORKERS' AS THAT IN IRELAND. And let's have the same amount of vehicle ownership, vehicle size, and gas mileage as in Ireland.

That would be an EXCELLENT START on that tax reduction plan.

How about people like the commenter you are talking about and the millions of other little basement masturbators of my generation you are badmouthing, not do as you listed and instead vote for leaders and ideas you hate. Republicans like you are way way to easy to hate. you sir are a marketing genius.

So instead of reading forums like this, why don't you get back to work like a good little serf, the man needs his taxes.

I just do not get why you single out and lambaste the GOP. DEMs are just as bad, and will likely prove to be much worse.

If your gonna go around bashing, you need to do blindly.

Dems take and claim to give to the poor, Reps take and claim to give to the rich (trickle down). Both take. Who from? The little middle and lower working classes. Neither one wants anything to change. Those worker bees are necessary - can't let them rise too far up or go too far down. Gotta keep 'em just so. Otherwise the hive dies.
So make those promises, keep those hopes up, keep that turnstyle turnin'.
Always was, always will be.

People were disgusted with the Republicans after Nixon/Ford. Only took a term to make them not so disgusted (at least relative to their opinion of the Democrats).

The sad thing is that Democrats are just as dishonest and just as willing to throw other people's money to the banks to protect their own personal interests.

Sorry I called you a dipship kid Mr. "Investor Class" (LOL), but you're still an asshole. Your resume sounds like a typical consultant parasite - all talk and no commitment. In a breakfast meal of ham and eggs, you're the chicken.

My question to you is simple. What is the point of working to create wealth when some guy in DC says point blank he plans to take it away and spread it around? The Republican party may not be perfect, but at least they don't advocate collectivism on a national scale. Don't worry though, your dreams of a fair and egalitarian future are safe. At the end of the year I'm outta here, and you and your Bolshevik friends can have my share of the Utopia.

Anonymous said...

LOL with all this talk of "teabagging" and now "taints", it's obvious NO republican idiot has EVER discovered the "urban dictionary" LOL!

"At the end of the year I'm outta here, and you and your Bolshevik friends can have my share of the Utopia"

LOL typical Republican, SCREW EVERYTHING UP for 8 years, then try to bail and leave the mess to the Dems. Happened after Coolidge/Hoover, happened after Nixon, happened after Bush I, happened after Bush II. Same old republican STENCH.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, idiot, hope you can find a country more RACIST/FASCIST than ours has been in the last 8 years, and less socialist already than ours is so far--but I doubt it!

Oh and by the way--there's a new law your boys put in place about expatriation of funds--so, sorry you can't take your money with you! We'll keep THAT share of your "utopia" too. LOL

Oh and by the way--funny how a whole gang of idiots who complained about Obama's "scary" middle name, had no qualms about letting a war criminal with the same first name as KARL MARX run the country for 8 years (using his sock puppet, Dumbya.) Hilarious.
