Seriously.
Get out of the bunker.
I dare you to get happy.
For awhile at least.
Hell, you're paying for it. Might as well enjoy the party.
(anyone wonder if this cheap-money no-regulations party will end just as badly if not worse than the last one?)
Forget your troubles
Come on get happy
You better chase all you cares away
Shout halleluja
Come on get happy
Get ready for the judgement day
The sun is shining
Come on get happy
The lord is waiting to take your hand
Shout halleluja
Come on get happy
We're going to the promise land
Come on get happy
You better chase all you cares away
Shout halleluja
Come on get happy
Get ready for the judgement day
The sun is shining
Come on get happy
The lord is waiting to take your hand
Shout halleluja
Come on get happy
We're going to the promise land

Hahahaha. Great joke Keith!

Keefer,
I admire your positive attitude, things are feeling better over all.
but is this an opportunity to prepare?
an opportunity to take advantage of the negative sentiment and a contradicting booming stock market?
Does a higher DOW mean that the underlying economy is really any better?
Me not sure that the money bomb will last as long as you think.
Then again, we may not even wake up tomorrow morning,
so i kinda agree to enjoy the good times.
Anyway, this monkey is gonna ride the wave with joy, at the same time also building an ark.
Been a while, cause i totally disagree with your anti 'tea party / FOX' rant
over 5 million mortgages out there that are seriously delinquent, and said that while the 30-day delinquencies seem to have peaked, "certainly some of the foreclosure backlogs are working their way through the system at this point."

I'm happy. I enjoy thinking about doom! I'm surrounded by sick and dying people at work, so it's the sea in which I swim. And every day when I can still motivate home under my own power, aching knees and all, I think "Thank (the non-existent) God I'm not THAT bad off."
Same with the looming collapse I forsee. I think I can survive it in an acceptable fashion. I'm probably wrong, but the hubristic feeling of "I'm smarter than all those other poor sods who are going to get crushed by the oncoming steamroller" makes me smirk with joy.
Well that should do it, Keith. Dare to say that anything might not be headed straight for Satan's Jaws around the permabears, and wait for the screeching to being.
Paying attention to the cyclical nature of economics really won't do it for these folks. I'm thinking Eskalith, Lithobid, Lithane, Lithonate, Lithotabs, Cibalith-S,and the anticonvulsant Depakote are about the only way for some of the denizens of S&A to stop predicting the Sky To Fall Any Day Now.
BTW, if you have some time (and a strong stomach), take a look at the behavior of the cultists when the End of the World is predicted ... and doesn't arrive. There were a bunch of 'em out in Montana that all dug themselves trenches and laid down looking up on Dec. 31, 1999, waiting for the Archangel Gabriel to appear in the sky over their heads and sound the trumpet of the Lord.
The next morning, they all poked their heads out of their muddy holes, looking at each other with confused, cowlike eyes. Dull sounds and groaning as their mouths dripped long strings of saliva. Gradually, they came to realize that their "leaders" had made off with their life savings, and that they had been scammed every inch of the way.
Of course, these people recovered, became real-estate agents, and now form the core of the Tea Bagger movement...
are we still in a depression?Man people have it good for a depression.Still buying shit they dont need so the corporations can fudge more numbers.
She may have been singing about happiness. But, it was just an act... Judy Garland - one of Hollywood's truly tragic figures - was anything BUT happy.
That's the real "recovery" story as well.
Bravo. Best post in a long time!

Keith! What's the matter? I do agree that the stock market is going up, but it has been subsidized by trillions of taxpayers' money and Beryankee's blind eye on inflation. Everyone I know complains about inflation. It's maybe hidden in the monthly bills, but it's definitely there. By my estimate, real inflation went up at least 7% this year.
I wrote before that the government believes a bull market is the panacea to cure all economic ills! I don't buy that crap!
I am still waiting for a real bottom in housing, just to buy a reasonably priced flat! I may have to wait until the end of 2012!
I am happy for you that you invested your money in Apple and what have you, but I never invested a penny in the stock market. I think I should have done it back in March, but I do not trust market handlers and money peddlers.
Cheers buddy!
PS: Hey, Prisoner No. 6, I like your comment, dude! More of that is needed here!
Keep it going!

What if we all just woke up one day and realized - No one is coming for us, and What is, just is. Judy Garland sang her lil heart out and then went home and swallowed a handful of pills with the big glass of scotch. Yeah, let's get happy. Whynot?
