"I can tell you who is not a homeowner. It is not someone who paid zero down and ridiculously low payments for two years; that my friend, is a renter"

If that quote doesn't about sum it up, I don't know what does.

HOMEOWNERS WITH MORTGAGES DO NOT OWN ANYTHING.

GOT IT MSM?

GOT IT POLITICIANS?

And people who put zero or little down are not losing 'their' homes. They're being asked to leave the bank's home. So that they can go rent something, like they should have been the whole time. You know, before they became housing gamblers.

I agree Keith a 110% ! And now that I want to buy a home and have the money and great credit I have to sit back and wait .I know I don't want to live around any of those renter's they don't take care of the homes . So I won't buy until this mess clears and that looks to be a long while here in Florida . I am pretty upset that I now have to be affected by these kinds of people and can't get a home.I been renting for over 3 years will see what happenS next maybe they will give them the homes ? Who Knows

This is a classic. And when property taxes go skyrocket to cover all the state and municipal shortfalls, we will all feel like renters.

Did I miss it? Where is this quote from?

they are home minority interest co-owners.

Don't most landlords have mortgages on their rental properties? How many landlords will be foreclosing on these properties?

As a home owner, I'm appauled at what I'm seeing around me in terms of housing and renting - it's so screwed up.

Unfortunately, it's going to take a long, long, long time before so many over-priced and poorly built houses will bottom-out in pricing.

Meanwhile, grab yourself a nice large bag of hot buttered popcorn and enjoy the show.

You're way, way, way better off renting then being stuck with payments on a house (that will need repairs) whose value is quickly depreciating.

Hopefully your neighbors are not aware of how you find them so totally disgusting.

Time is coming right around the corner, that you are going to want your neighbors to really, really like you.

Got guns?

Some of us got homes with mortgages (fixed rate of course!) we can easily afford (i.e. <20% of monthly post-tax income). Now technically I agree I don't own it, and unless I and my wife totally screw up we're good to go. This Xmas my parents are buying a new TV (they can afford it), and we're getting a nice hand me down! Ditto for where my car came from, bought it cheap off my parents. This whole living within our means really seems to be working out (certainly did for my parents).
