"How are these ruthless, careless ghouls who murdered the economy still walking around, and not as perps?"
"Bring on the shackles. Let the show trials begin."
- NYT's Maureen Dowd, calling for blood, January 28, 2009
(Blog note: Michael Perry, Indymac mortgage fraud king pictured above assuming the position, you might want to be sneaking across the border right about now. You're f*cked dude. Tick, tick, tick)

Queeferino,
These guys will never see a jail cell. They may see the gallows at the hands of a lynch mob, but our criminal injustice system has deemed this guys BULLETPROOF.
I disagree. Mozilo and Perry will be picked up within days.
I've been wrong for months, but that's because Bush's Justice Department, where crimes were never punished, refused to do it.
IF Obama doesn't do it, and do it soon, he will lose his credibility to govern.
IF Obama does it, he'll show there's a new Sheriff in town.
Get popcorn. And the day Mozilo is frog marched should be celebrated here.
My guess? March 30.
As much as they need to go to jail, I don't ever see that happening. The media has already decided Perry and Mozilo were simply humble, unknowing businessmen. Meanwhile all the homeedebting fraudsters are now "victims" of an unforeseeable "housing crisis."
And TARP was passed to clean up the whole mess. Meanwhile no one bothered to spend even a second talking about who was responsible for the theft and destruction. No mention of bringing these tens of thousands of real estate agents, builders, homedebtors, bankers, lobbyists, and congresspeople to mass prison camps for looting the country of trillions.
I certainly hope you are right Keith, but if they are arresting these guys, they will have to arrest many elected officials. I stick with my BULLETPROOF theory until proven wrong. I hope I am wrong
Nothing is going to happen to these dudes. They know it, and you know it. Obama ain't going to pursue this crap just like Bush didn't pursue this crap.
Is Perry still running Indymac? hahahaa
I'm seeing more and more grumbling for economic and judicial revenge on the rich bastards. Aside from MoDo, who's usually more of a snark-slut than the class warrior she was in that latest column, they're even getting narky in Davos.
They don't go to normal prisons. Remember Keating?
Not going anywhere but the Bahamas dream on.
No way keith, these guys know where the skeletons are hidden and can name pols by the dozen who were on the take. Do you think any of the Congressmen want their dirty laundry outed in a trial?
Mozillo Will see jail......very soon ..I am sure right now he is negotiating with the Feds on how long he needs to hang out at Club Fed.. move over Madoff. Angelo needs a suite in your new home...
Oh, Maureen Dowd, you ignorant slut.
He sure does got a pretty mouth.
Wow, the MSM gets on board. Cool.
Anon 1:10, Ken Lay never saw a jail cell either.
They go to marhta stewaert type jails where they bake cookies all day.
Here's a tip.
H. R. 645
To direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish national emergency centers on military installations.
"National Emergency Centers Establishment Act’.
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-645
Do you think these "emergency centers" are going to be built for Mozilo and Perry et. al.?
Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for you.
That prison rape crap is so old. It doesn't happen to the extent that you naive morons think. And it doesn't happen much if at all in minimum-security prisons, which is where these guys will go.
I know a guy who's in prison right now and the worst thing for him is visiting day. That's when prisoners and their friends from the outside are together and trying to impress each other. He's been in for over a year and nobody has propositioned him.
Too bad prisons aren't rough dirty places to go anymore. You can thank your liberal Democrat heroes for that.
"he'll show there's a new Sheriff in town."
Keith is that a Blazing Saddles reference? Sorry, couldn't resist.
Obama seems like a good man, I think if he gets wind that we the people want the Orange guy and the other perpetrators of eCONomic dooms heads, I think he will pursue it.
Thank you Barney Frank and taxpayers for subsidizing my next rental investment:
"Among its many provisions is a $7,500 tax credit for first time home buyers. The House passed the $819 billion stimulus plan, including this tax credit, in a vote late Wednesday. The Senate may vote on its version of the bill some time next week.
Technically, the stimulus bill is actually changing the terms of the $7,500 tax credit that was issued as a part of the Housing Recovery Act, which Congress passed last summer. That legislation required that the tax credit be repaid over 15 years, making it more of a no-interest loan. Not surprisingly, the measure had little impact on the market. The stimulus bill now under consideration would make that tax credit a true credit that doesn't need to be repaid."
Bwahahaha...it gets better. Thanks Barney Frank, Obamy, Pelosi, and taxpayers for subsidizing my next Mercedes. Work harder hamsters to pay for my house and luxury car:
"Money -- With auto sales at crisis levels, Washington is trying to figure out how to get Americans buying cars again.
Several ideas are on the table, but two of them are really making the industry pay attention. One plan is to make new car costs tax deductible. The other is to give rebates to Americans with old cars so they can better afford to buy new ones, a program otherwise known as "cash for clunkers.""
Man, I love socialism to fleece the sheeple.
It is 40 years after the Moon landing. Where has Maureen Dowd been talking about the planned obsolescence of automobiles for the last 20 years?
How much money has the media made on car advertising? Why would they talk about PO. Do Americans lose $300,000,000,000 in depreciation on cars every year?
Duh, what is NET Domestic Product?

well, first BO needs to get his AG through congress.
What the f is taking so long?
come on keith, perry and mozilo were simply trying to make housing more affordable for low income borrowers. this is exactly what congress wanted them to do.
