Keith, There is something else we really need to be focusing on as well. We are like a frog in hot water right now.
Irresponsible people are getting tax payer bailouts on their stucco-gamble gone bad. The CEOs that orchestrated the financial collapse are getting billions of our dollars to pay themselves millions in bonuses. AIG just gave another $165 million of our tax dollars to its loser execs, on top of the $55 million they already gave themselves in bonuses.
Obama is lieing about taxes. We will all start paying more in taxes very soon. The carbon cap scam is just going to be a tax to all, even the poor, on all our energy needs. Here in CA we already have state tax increases to keep our less responsible neighbors in their McMansions.
The Gov is going to slowly tax us to death in stealthy ways so most won't even realize that they really are paying for the greedy asshats every single day.

i agree with GT Charlie with respect to s&a not focusing on obama wanting to give away homes to the homedebtors. what the messiah is proposing is to allow a $30k millionaire to stay in a $600K home by bringing the payments down to 31% of his income. this will give hundreds of thousands of dollars to the fraudster...a huge percentage of principle will be wiped out and forgiven -- that's theft. they get to stay in a house they don't deserve, and which they stole essentially, for the rest of their lives. i think there's some provision in the proposed policy for the govt. to get the proceeds, or some of them, from a sale; but that is never going to be enforced.
obama's proposal is a crime against the american people. it is giving away hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of dollars to fraudsters...people who lied to get a mortgage, took our savings out on loan, and who now will not pay that money back.
this is the number one issue right now, not mozilla, cheney, or lahore.
the most momentous aspect of this whole calamity is obama's plan to let fraudsters keep their homes when they should just be renting. so now these dregs of society will be living like kings and the honest people - the savers - get fucked over and continue to struggle.
