Don't worry about colliding planets. As the Sun ages, it burns brighter and hotter. In half a billion years the Earth will be too hot for life except "extremophile" bacteria. Talk about global warming!
As the sun ages further, it'll expand into a red giant. Mercury will de-orbit first of course as the top of the sun's "atmosphere" reaches it and Mercury does a Skylab.
Still, time for a good stiff one! :)

It's interesting that you bring this topic up. I've felt for a long time now that perhaps one of the causes of all this corruption, greed, and recklessness that we've been witnessing is man's subconsious belief in the 2012 doomsday theory. Not that I'm saying your graphics or post is related to 2012..., it clearly not, but it brought it to mind.

Keithers ~ Don't you think mankind, should he survive another 1,000 years, will be controlling the orbits of not only everything in our own solar system by then, but also the destinies of most of the galaxies, as well? Knowledge and resultant power is expanding so fast, in the eternal scheme of things, that I wouldn't get too uptight about something supposed to occur a billion years off still. And that includes some misplaced concern about "the sun is going to go out".

Frede, it is indeed Jupiter (good catch) and they better hurry up if they want to have anything left to hit once Fraudbama recks our country and then the planet soon there after. The cancer is spreading and this whole thing is setting up to blow!
No new jobs and plenty more job losses on their way. My guess would be in the area of 3.0M - 3.5M million more by years end or roughly 500K per month on average for the remainder of this year. An uptick of 500K - 1M jobs in the Government is the only thing keeping it from surpassing 4M.
Housing after today is officialy dead. Fraudbama can try to rob Peter to pay Paul all he wants and give 15K to people to entice them to buy, but their is a problem. Lenders are not lending to these people like they used too and without jobs unless you buy them a house it doesn't work. Treasury yields have blown through 4% and have much further to travel still. Interest rates are not coming back down and 6% will be reached by months end if not sooner. I see 7% easily reached by November or so.
Autos despite Fraudbamas efforts at buying cars to update Government fleets will crash under their own weight. Screwing bond holder was Fraudbamas biggest mistake to date for our financials systems ability to get investors to invest. He has single handidly destroyed the financial principals that our country were founded on in just a few short months in office... way to go kid!!
We are fucked and that is just the simple truth in all of this. If things do not turn around then we are fucked!!! No second chance on this one because we went all in. All marbles in one basket and no more baskets on the horizon as they were used too. This is it folks. If healthcare goes through I truly believe we will not come through, but perhaps a distant chance if we stop now and start fixing the problem instead of adding to it.

Do away with all Government pensions immediately
Extend unemployment by 26 more weeks immediately. Make it a work for pay program where they must work 40 hours doing community clean up projects for the town they live in. People are going to need this or we will see an increase in crime and all sorts of other bad but expensive things to combat.
Pull troops out of every safe country (Japan for example) and immediately deploy them on US borders and get to work building the fence so we at least control who crosses moving forward. Hell you can document them at the gate if you want, but know who is being given legal status and gaining entry into our country. These are jobs and long term jobs.
Beak up and sell Fannie & Freddie immediately
Start preparing to sell Chrysler and GM now so in a few months we will be rid of them and get whatever we can for our money back.
