Sorry to be the one to say this, but since Keith is being trepidant I will.

Because Americans are just as Stupid as they are broke. With Mitt Romney's help...

Sarah Palin will be the next President of the United States.

You CANNOT make this shit up!

Never was optimistic about him, and was sickened the first time I saw him impromptu; there ain't nothing but party, ambition, and polish there.

We sorely, desperately needed an administration to make the folks who created the housing bubble eat their shit(debt) so that honest capital could move us past Depression.

    Here's what we got.

Far, far beyond any ability to service; those payments cannot be made. All we are doing is prolonging and worsening the eventual reckoning to allow the architects a Final, Frantic looting of our nation's assets.

  16. Oh come on KEITH! The pres just did a complete smack down of the repub-lickins, on their own turf even, and u r not gonna be around to comment on it? Now your gone, really? I was so hoping for your angle on this, its like what I had been waiting for all last year, finally obama answers his critics, and in a BIG way!!
It was almost like the movie 300, where just a few bad ass warriors take on an entire army and kick ass and take names. I doubt even your most die hard republican readers on this blog could deny that BO did just that and put the rep party in its place. It was amazing, BO versus 140 house repubs, and he called them out, one at a time, took on and obliterated each and every comer! face to face, right there and then, giving no time for them to counter spin the truth that confronted them! Amazing!
Oh im sure rush limbaugh, hiding behind the golden eib mike so far away, after the fact, will tell your repub readers what they should think about this, and his counter spin will emerge and snake its way into the msm, but for now, its sat, the beating bo delivered was on fri, so we have to wait till monday for the rats to come out of their holes and then they will have something to say to prop up their injured cause. and just for the record, i predict that rush wont defend the rhetoric of the right so much, or take on BO on the merits of what was said or discussed, oh no. he wont dare touch the substance of bo's arguments, he cant! rather the big fat chicken hawk will attack the left for cheering this speech. he's gonna attack the left for falling all over themselves for praising what the "chosen one" has done. and really, we r only happy because 1, BO got to tell his side and defended himself face to face with his worst accusers, and they were made to look stupid and 2, it shows he does have some fight in him and that he will defend himself against these most dispicable of accusations thrown at him from the right, and even jon stewart on the left. and 3, that for me at least, I had lost hope, I was thinking bo was just as corrupt as any pres b4 him, and he still may be, but I found my concerns being voiced by the repubs even and i was like, yeah, barack, what do you have to say to that? And BO had some damn good answers! My fears were assuaged, somewhat. But like the repubs even say, lets see what he DOES as actions do speak louder than words, even tho the words were needed and are a start...

BULL. In average times a whole year of nothing is unacceptable.

In our current circumstance it's outrageous.

  23. Thank you, Mike, for recognizing that that link was not chosen casually. I reckon that Keith is a bit of a cross between Arthur Dent -- the intrepid but somewhat bumbling traveler -- and Douglas Adams -- the dyspeptic observer of human monkeypeople.

Yes I was being partisan, but not knuckle dragging. As for BO having been in office a year and having "nothing" done, how about the stimulus, equal pay, reversal of the brain dead stem cell ban, this on top of his first 100 days when he has to fill slots in his administration and the many months fighting with repubs and blue dogs over health care. But what is baffling to me is how people continue to think that the president and his party should just railroad important legislation through congress over any opposition. It might not have been the case in the gwbush years, but things SHOULD take time to pass through congress, not forced like when the repubs were in charge, every republican jackboot was in step and kept inline by guys nicknamed the "enforcer". Agree with them or not, I kind of like how the dems have diversity of opinion in their own party and they actually debate things unlike before. The drawback is yes, time may pass without the legislation under debate passing...

  26. Anon 2:34 PM,
Call it whaever you like, the fact is the system is working like its supposed, I kind of like the idea of a political party forming a circular firing squad, its what the left is known for. they fight each other and hash their ideas out so that over time the superior idea wins out. Contrast this to the repubs who ran congress under the bush admin, they considered themselves liutenants of the fuehrer, im sorry, i meant president (but with the concept of a unitary exec whats the difference?). They happened to pass a majority of items on the republican agenda and they did it in lock step without much squealing from their own party. Now people are dismayed that nancy pelosi and harry reid dont do the same with their party, but they never stop to think that that may be a good thing, especially if one were to not even agree with nancy and harry's positions on the issues, you would think they would be happy...
