It is wonderful that you feel that it is important that American workers enjoy living like people do in Mexico and China, rather than in Japan and Germany. There is one difference: there are unions in the latter.

So people who work in dangerous professions, in potentially hazardous locations, or using hazardous materials don't deserve health coverage?

And only politicians or college graduates should earn a living wage?

Common sense would say isn't it better to have a job at a lessor pay than no job at all? It's 50 years too late.

Leave it to the greedy and hapless UAW representatives of the decent Union Brothers and Sisters to Fuck up a cup of coffee... You were THiiiis close to conning free money from the idiots in DC again...

Bye bye UAW. Bye Bye Chrysler and Good Riddance GM. Nardelli, go back and sell toilets. Waggoner, just GO away in shame and failure on a Bushco scale...

You suck. You build shit. You couldn't manage a lemonaid stand. You're DEAD. DIE.

America is Dead. Sharpen up your pitchforks. Get Ready. Looks like the ONLY thing Bushco did correctly in 8 years was enlist his private Army to kill Americans in America. Looks like they will plenty of action soon soon staring in the 'heartland'.

Seig Heil!

I must agree with my fellow Republicians. It's one thing to allow bailout money to go pay for big bonuses for us of the country club set. But my word, we must put our foot down when it comes to allowing bailout money for the great unwashed. Hear!Hear!

This is a really misplaced scapegoat. It reminds me of "Attack Iraq" After 911.

In French they say "If you want to kill your dog, start telling everybody it has rabies."

Absolutely - goodbye to Unions. Nobody should be paid a decent wage and receive good benefits, anyway.

Although corporate CEO's still deserve obscene pay while the rest of sinking America quarrels over the scraps.

Sheesh, Keith...

Why are Corporations allowed to under
fund pension plans? The UAW needs to get rid of the commitment of paying health costs for people from 55 to 65 .

This has been a long time coming

The Unions finally F**Ked themselves

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch!

Never, never met a union worker that was worth a Sh*t

Bunch of lazy whiners and cry babies!

But just remember this. As UAW wages fall, or if the UAW dies, then you can expect home prices in an already economically battered part of the country to fall.

As what happens to your neighbor, will happen to you next.

Don't like the UAW? Well then you should be 10x more upset at what Management has done to America.

Get careful what you celebrate. It's probably coming right at YOU!

Where is the UAMU-(United Apartment Managers Union) or the UQMMU-(United Quickie Mart Managers Union)?? This UAW has gone way too far in codlocking the auto industry. Bennies to the tune of $70.00 an hour? Give me a break. OK, it's hard work to push those robots in the factory as hard as they do. And someone said on TV they get the 70 bucks an hour whether laid off or not? I guess its nice if you could get it--Sounds like a overpowering scam to me. Let the UAW ask Joe Snuffy who works for $6.55 an hour with NO bennies, if he thinks they have a good deal at GM, etc. Joe Snuffy DOES NOT get the $6.55 if he calls in drunk.
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!

A relative just got a job at the new Honda plant in Indiana.

There were 40,000 applicants. They had guys riding bicycles to the interviews and blind people hobbling in --- everyone who could fog a mirror!

They selected the best 2000 to interview. Of those, most of the experienced auto workers walked out when they were told the starting pay was $16.50 an hour.

They finally narrowed it down to the cream of the crop 400 to actually hire and open the plant. On the first day of work only 364 of the 400 "BEST OF THE BEST" even showed up for the first day of work!

Well, after the first week the new hires got a raise. Once production is up they are supposed to get another raise.

These union workers think they are ENTITLED to a job and living.

WHAT A BUNCH OF SPOILED BRATS!

You guys act like asshats. Once you cheer on Unions being gone, cheer on working 60 hours a week with no OT. Cheer on working 7 days a week for min wage. Cheer on the CEO's who fucked this country.

I don't believe anyone from the UAW made GM, Ford, or Chrysler do the dumb shit they have done. The CEO and BOD did the damage, Republicans like to blame the Unions in an attempt to further bust them.
Anyone who believes anything a Republican has said for the past 30 years is a F-tard. The "$70" an hour is the amount AVERAGED PER WORK AND RETIREE. So, if 700,000 managers, engineers, and UAW workers are retired......... the rest of them have the numbers added to their bottom line to make the numbers chippy for Republican Union bashers. The dickwad who started the "$74" a hour rumor owns several "consulting firms" that do nothing but bust Unions. He makes somewhere around 10 million a year in profits busting Unions. Why? cause businesses hate Unions because it means less $$$$$ for the CEO and Board of Directors (and the 400 or so VP's of whatever the company has).

If I were GM, I would go the bankruptcy course and rid themselves of Unions.

If you can't build a car and make a profit, you need to change the way you do business.

Unions have crushed the ability for car makers to be viable and they are the cancer.

Hire people who are willing to work hard and get paid for production and quality. Give them targets that if they achieve, they increase their pay. GM will then be able to hire a better caliber of worker and can get rid of the dead wood.

You end up with better products and higher paid employees.

The unions create workers who have no pride in what they do or what they produce.

Let them die.

HPers hate bailouts and supporting flippers, but some support unions. That is just silly. Flippers and Unions are the same vein of get rich without much effort.

Hard work, quality and production make people affluent.

I hope these anti union posters never get what they want. No unions, no enviromental/health/employment standards, just to be used and abused by the elites. They must be paid agitators for the NWO, getting us ready for the SPP.

I don’t usually get this harsh but I can't hold my tongue on this one:

You people cheering the demise of the UAW and the Big Three are retarded tools of the corporate elite. They have trained a generation of American workers to hate THEMSELVES.

Why do you think Honda pays the same wages as UAW workers get? Because they don't want unions, right? If the unions were not there, bargaining for fair wages, do you think either Honda or GM workers would get a living wage of $30 an hour? Of course not, but Corporate America would love you to believe that. Las Vegas casinos both union and non-union all pay close to union scale for the same reason. Some dumbasses just can't see that the wages the unions have fought decades for, benefit so many others.

Do some research; this issue is too important to just parrot stupid rhetoric. UAW workers start out under $15 an hour and long term UAW workers average under $30. Yes the big three have pension and health benefits that add a huge disadvantage to competing against Toyota who's 50% of cars sold in the US are made in Japan, thus enjoying a cost per vehicle advantage thru national health care, reduced litigation cost/exposure (see out of control sue happy American culture) and Japan's long, long history of currency manipulation and direct Government support of it's manufacturers.

A company that supports American jobs and your fellow American's pension and retirement benefits is to be awarded for a great job and for providing an essential service to our nation. Instead moron tools cry for their demise for so arrogantly supporting Americans with comfortable (not lavish) lives.

Disclosure: I have never had a union job. I can however recognize a good thing for my fellow worker and have the ability to be happy for a fellow American making a good wage instead of reacting with jealosy befitting a 6 year old.

Any of you boneheads who really believe American cars are junk are truly the most lost and unwitting double agents of destruction perpetrated on the American middle class way of life.

Man I hope all of you haters get a pink slip for Xmas and some jackass laughs at your demise.

60 hour work week. Wah. Wah. Wag. I choose a 60 hour work week because I want to pay down my debt and build my savings while there aren't any rugrats to distract me and my wife (once they enter the picture changes, a lot!). Of course this is down from my 80-100 work weeks when I was in my 20's so it honestly feels like a vacation. Guess what: in this consumer society you have to pay for the standard of living you want. Imagine that.

Proof positive people are getting dumber.

Country votes in an all Dem govt including the most liberal president ever, and the same voters also hate unions.

Do you guys have an F'ing clue? As far as unions go, the big 3 have bigger issues with inept mgrs and poor engineering. I can build the world's best turd, but its still a turd.

And I am the guy who bought american cars trying to keep this economy intact. 90% of the issues I have had with american cars were not due to poor assembly but poor design.
