Latvia Shaken by Riots Over Economy
For years, Latvia boasted of double-digit economic growth rates, but it has been shaken by the global economic downturn. Its central bank has spent a fifth of its reserves to guard against a steep devaluation of its currency, the lat, and experts expect a 5 percent contraction of the country’s gross domestic product in 2009. Salaries are expected to fall substantially, and unemployment to rise.
It would be nice if Obama has some fireside chats with the American public and level with them - "they have been living WAY over their means for decades, and they will have a lower standard of living in the future." That said, it isn't all bad - do families really need to go to TGIF all the time? Can't they stay home and have a home cooked meal?. . .are trips to Disneyworld/Land a national "right?". . .DG Sunglasses, Gucci Clothing, etc. are NOT rights.
A lot of kicking and screaming for bailouts (Heard Larry Flint wants a porn-industry bailout), will be demanded in the next year - Obama will have to stand firm. . .rebuilding highways and bridges, OK, but handouts - NO!
Realtors should be changing diapers for the clients they screwed under the new plan.There are pleunty of potholes to fill too.the forests need a lot of work also.
well looks some people have new jobs, like Kurland of Pennymac - he should know what to do with all these bad loans, he got rich making them when he was at Countrywide.

This from a guy who hangs out in San Diego and Zurich, two of the most bling places on earth. You walk in Zurich and is nothing but bling at your face.

Bling???. . .had to go to Wikipedia to find out what that was all about - Hip Hop Jewelry, flashy stuff, etc. . . .if you have been reading my posts for the past three years, you know I am a "cash and carrry" guy, NEVER wear anything but a $100 Swiss Army Watch (on sale), and have CASH to live in San Diego and Zurich. . .My complaint is against those who have lived for years on credit and lived above their income. . .me??? I live WAY below my income which being able to "hang out in San Diego and Zurich" should tell you something.
