Chrysler vice chairman expects automaker to be viable by spring

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A top Chrysler LLC executive says the automaker should be viable by springtime because of its restructuring, introduction of new and improved vehicles, and higher sales due to loosened credit and sweetened incentives for buyers.

Watching much Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Anderson Cooper, LA Times, NY Times, etc, lately? Here's your corrupt media at work:

Headlines 4 Years Ago:

"Republicans spending $42 million on inauguration while troops Die in unarmored Humvees"

"Bush extravagance exceeds any reason during tough economic times"

"Fat cats get their $42 million inauguration party, Ordinary Americans get the shaft"

Headlines for Obama this week:

"Historic Obama Inauguration will cost only $120 million"

"Obama Spends $120 million on inauguration; America Needs A Big Party"

"Everyman Obama shows America how to celebrate"

"Citibank executives contribute $8 million to Obama Inauguration"

Aren't you people tired of being gamed, being a sheeple, being a MSM b!tch?

uh-oh, and no, I'm not a Republican. I wrote Ron Paul in because I don't sell out that easily, as some bloggers I know.

Never, ever, ever, ever buy a Chrysler, a Ford or a GM vehicle. They are poorly designed and very unreliable. I own a mechanic shop and I can GUARANTEE you that if you buy any of the above mentioned vehicles then before the odomoter hits 50,000 miles, you will have a major repair. Between 50,000 and 100,000 miles you will have two to three major repairs. After 100,000 miles your car will give up on you several times (faulty electronic systems mainly).

God, those above mentioned cars suck. They really do suck. Finally their past has caught up with them and there is nothing they can do with it.

The absolute worst car I ever owned - a Dodge Daytona. POS from mile 200 to its near death at 80,000.

Tranny blew at 12,000 miles (on MY BIRTHDAY no less). All light covers leaked, funky elec., head casket/radiator, and something so simple as DOORS? Like opening and closing?.. I recall climbing out the window several times..in a skirt.. Never again.

We can expand upon this issue in a nutshell. Let's see if I can swing that this time.

The elite and salivating consumers are all counting on artificial economic stimuli (like this First National Bank of Suck that the Congress wants to build) to free up all that frozen credit, to go back to "normal".

However, "normal" isn't normal. That level of borrowing was too high and the natural level is too low for the current finance institutions.

In addition, once the orgy of borrowing and securitization and hedging arrived a pause point, the momentum of the entire Ponzi Scheme system was lost, and it had to collapse. The same feedback loops that built the Credit Bubble had to now produce an, er, Deflation Bubble. The same forces that produced outrageously high pricing and arcane financing terms, had to now produce gapingly low prices and simple financing models.

So all these plans of "it'll unfreeze after Spring" are completely delusional. That economists are aligning with the unfreezing is another sign of how delusional that America's hyper-educated masses became. America is only proving that education is more of a propaganda tool than a means of performing critical analysis. Education just gives you more reasons to rationalize your biases. Huge lists of B.S. reasons. Reason like "they're not making any more land", and "we're hedged and so we can't lose".

I have a Lexus that is acting like it needs its second replaced transmission at 125,000, with no abnormal wear.

We also have a Ford about the same age which is on its first everything, except breaks, wipers etc. that have also failed on the Lexus cody 3X the price.

The Lexus dealership does have a masseur included if stress of the price of the repair is overwhelming.

I'm just so sick and tired of mythology ruling the herd.

Really ??? As of TODAY , yes I looked , My FORD Ranger has 237,931 Miles on it. It's a 1994.

My 1995 Mercury Cougar XR-7 has 148, 371

I have had 2 clutches on the Ranger. Brakes , tires , the usual. That's all.

The Cougar is still on the original automatic tranny. The 7R40W is awesome. My two AMERICAN cars are excellent and are equal to , or BETTER than a fu*king RICE BURNER.

I finally decided to try the quality of a Japenese vechile. bought new odyssey last year. this month it has spent more time in the repair shop than in my garage. The front end rattles and vibrates through the steering column like a stripper shimming for a 5 dollar tip. Sometimes when I turn the heater on I smell oil, don't think that is a good sign.

Personally I owned 1 Buick and 2 Ford pick ups. Lot's of problems ranging from front end, transmission to electrical. Now I got a Toyota Tercel with 173K miles and a Tacoma with 90K miles and no more problems. I bought both new and had one unscheduled repair of $400 in a combined 1/4 million miles. Not bad at all.

It seems you are assigning personal characteristics to a machine. Machines can't think to make your birthday hell. You seem to be doing a good enough job of making your life hell without the help, anyway!

If gas stays under $3 they may be just fine. All super-hip America bashing aside, Chrysler makes some awesome vehicles.

I would give either nut for one of the new Challengers and the new Chargers are great too. New Jeeps, wow!

The six cylinder new Challenger gets gas mileage with a few MPGs of some shitty, souless Camry or Accord.

I know its hard, but put aside the programming Toyota has brainwashed you with for 20 years and at least take a look at Chrysler.

1970 Challenger value = $70,000.00
1970 Honda value = $35.00

Its your money!

This just in:

Urgent announcement from Fujio Cho, president Toyota Motorcorp:

Recently I have been asked why our repair bays are full all day, everyday.

Please be assured that while GM repair bays are repairing cars, our repair bays are actually over-flow wash and detail bays.

So while shopping for that new Toyota please disregard the line of cars waiting to get into the "wash and detail" bays.

It has also come to my attention that we do not yet have EVERY American dollar in circulation. Please do your part to ensure we get those last few $$$. We will take good care of the jobs we have stolen from Detriot with our hilarious 30 year currency manipulation.

Sayonara chumps!

I can't believe all of the people posting messages bashing me because I simply said "buy a good reliable car. And the most reliable brands out there are Honda and Toyota". Sorry, but those are the facts. Do your research by an objective source like Consumer Reports and you will see that the most reliable brands for vehicles is a Honda and then a a Toyota. If you love buying an "American" car (most "American" car's parts are from overseas and they are assembled in Mexico or Canada) then be my guest, you have every right to do so. But don't bash me just because I told the truth. As a mechanic and a shop owner, I honestly can not in good conscience recommend buying a Ford, GM or a Chrysler brand.

Other than oil changes, tires, brakes normal wear and tear stuff...

1989 F-150 Now a weekend work truck - 147,000 miles Freeze plug, power steering and water pump after the belt shredded. Zero other problems.

1998 Ford Escort 169,000 Daily Driver, Alt, Fuel Pump, Pwr Steering pump

2001 F-150 130,000 new coil overs starboard side due to condensation (Class Problem)

2002 F-250 Diesel 140,000 - Nothing

1979 Rx-7 186,000 New engine, clutch, rear wheel bearings x2

I have a co-worker with, I think it is a 2006 Civic. She bought it after her old Escort Zx-2 was totaled in an accident. She wanted to get a reliable car so she bought - I think it is a 2006, Honda Civic. So far New engine, leaky sunroof, third set of brakes, various electrical problems, under 40,000 miles. She wishes she had the Zx-2. She was just asking last week what she could do to get rid of the Civic.

I have had several other Mazda's and Ford's in my lifetime. I even had an Accord for a while after a relative passed away. It was an okay car. She had abused it badly so I can't really blame the car, but I didn't really like it.

I know farmers that are still driving 30-40-50 year old American trucks damn near every day.

My point, sweeping generalizations never hold up. There are lemons everywhere.

Maybe she can sell it to the ANNON who owns "Baghdad Bob's repair shop" He seems to really love them rice burners, also likes to paint with a pretty broad brush.

Too many dummys think like him and then wonder...duh why did I lose my job??? Or gee why is the economy crumbling? We can't send our money to other countries forever without repercussions.

You reap what you sow Baghdad Bob.

Ok, then fine, be my guest, buy an "American car". It is not a generalization that the best cars are Japanese. I am an American. But first and foremost, I will look out for my interests first. Do you think those auto executives are looking out for the best interests of America? I don't think so. Go all of you wonderful patriots, go buy an "American" car. BTW, most "American" cars are assembled in Mexico!
