WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

The best video I've seen in awhile. Let me please introduce you to Catherine Austin Fitts.

I'm not sure I buy that they shouldn't have seen the whole crash coming. The blogs (including Keith) and economists (Schiff, Schiller and Roubini) all saw this coming. I'm not an economist and I saw this coming. How could CNBC have not questioned gravity? Imagine if Diana Olick actually reported what she really knew about housing instead of timidly walking around the issues (like affordability - like how it was cheaper to rent - like sustainability - like Toll and Mozillo dumping stock). I guess like everyone they can't afford to bite the advertisers that feed them.

I don't believe in the American dream, homedebtors, and 401k's. Short selling is the way of the future.

Talk about gettin' your ASSSS handed to ya!

Fucking great job John Stewart!!

If it was a fight, it would have been STOPPED.

Cramer and CNBC are finally exposed for the all-out FRAUDS that they are. The financial news media had an absolute DUTY to report the facts, and they didnt. They cheerleaded the criminals who ripped us off for TRILLIONS, because they are cut from the same cloth.

Short term gains at the expense of the long term health of our country.

They should all be in JAIL!!!!!!

WE LOVE YOU JOHN!!!!!

You are a GOD amongst MENNNNN!!

The market is rigged. Wise up!

Citigroup did not earn money, unless you consider bailouts from the public as profit. Is Cramer this ignorant?

not the exact place for this complaint..but... i spend 2.5 times the cost of my food monthly for health insurance and resent the fact that good diet is a major factor in health and im paying someone 2.5 times more than what a diet costs, and thasts from those "good, caring" people...........

People, you are insane. CNBC is in the ENTERTAINMENT business. Like Cramer says, he could go on his show and talk serious financial advice. But if he did, his ratings would be minimal at best. No one would watch. And CNBC would fire him.

If you watch CNBC and Cramer for real investment advice, you are hopeless. In fact, if you watch Cramer and his antics and think he is anything but entertainment, you are foolish.

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure if I loved or hated Stewart's performance:
Did he do a wonderful job of outlining the serious failings of cnbc and the news media in general, or did he repeatedly not go for the knockout punches that were there for the taking?

Anonymous said...

We can hope that others will pile in behind Stewart and tear apart, with great vigor, the BS that cnbc spews.

I guess the entire public has to be protected from the snake oil salesman and we have to treat people like 2 year olds . Further, we have to do away with freedom of speech because people are like two year olds because people don't know the difference between Cheerleaders from real news reporting . In fact, lets get rid of all the news because a political bias exists with everything . Lets get rid of all tv programs because all shows have the bias of the writers that might program or influence some mind .

You can't protect people from everything . Do common sense people really think that they can tune into the Crammer show and make easy money ? Do people really think that they are entitled to make easy money without doing their own research ?

Parents need to train their offspring to see the hidden agenda behind what anyone says . If we resort to a Big Brother Society where a power group takes over and tells people what is good or bad ,than we have exceeded the Governments role and have set the stage for a coontrolled Society .

While I agree with highly regulated Capitalism to protect the public from the snakes ,I also feel that we are on the verge of overreacting and losing freedoms .

Does a party not know that when they are watching a commercial that they are being hyped ? You have to do your homework and read the fine print .Hype is everywhere .

If the Court system rules that hype is not legal ,than every program on TV ,including any show that have any bias will be banned .

Don't get me wrong that I don't think that some outragous junk that has been peddled to the sheep should have better disclaimers and
disclosures ,but people must develope common sense .

The housing Bubble was mass brainwashing ,a black swan event
that came about in part because the advertisers owned the airways .But do you want that replaced by Big Brother who thinks they know best .
Big Business controlling and peddling information is no doubt a problem . If people think just because they watch something on the TV its anything but a opinion and someone peddling something ,than they are stupid .

The issue is that people are stupid and lazy and not raised to protect themselves from any force that might want to pick their pockets or take their freedoms .

Crammer had disclaimers that his show was opinion ,and anyone with a brain would of turned him off after a while . The Cult worship of Crammer is another example of the stupid people never being taught that many times the wolf will be in sheeps clothing .

I'm not saying that I don't think that information should carry disclosures ,but if a person doesn't understand that so much of the data you get in life is someone trying to sell you something ,than they don't know that this is what makes the world go around .
I turn off commercials because I don't want to be told what I need . I laugh at programs that push a hidden agenda .
If you were in touch with your own self you would not need a outside party to tell you what you need . You would not have any kind of hero worship because you would know its a con ,and if you were raised right you wouldn't expect to get rich quick and you would not be willing to screw your fellow man ,knowing that you screw yourself in the final analysis .

Training starts at home by the people that love you most and expands into the dog eat dog world . Yes ,evil does exist everywhere ,and often times it's legal evil .

The fact that Crammer was given any credit as a man helping the little man is the joke . I use to write posts about what Crammer
was and I hated his guts for pushing the TARP program and
other times in which his agenda was for Wall Street and his own self-serving show . His Soppy Sales approach is designed for 2 year olds who don't have a attention span and that is his target audience .and he has a big following with the college crowd .

Its nice that his shams are being challenged ,but this exposure comes to late and it should of been done before Crammer was able to do his damage on the wide scale basis he did .

I would have liked to see Stewart crucify Cramer for being a whore for Wall Street.

Cramer wasn't just wrong about a few stocks. He wasn't just wrong about a few industries. He wasn't just wrong about the direction of the economy.

Cramer was and still is dead wrong in his whole understanding of the role that the financial industry plays in our civilization.

Cramer has gone on the air screaming and wailing for interest rate cuts and 'quantitative easing' and all kinds of policies and programs that screw prudent savers for the sake of a parasitic financial industry.

Cramer is, like many whores, in love with his pimp.

Good thought mimi. Jon obviously had his staff do some research and his preparation was impressive (finding those video clips).

But he should have told his crew to check out the bubble blog archives.

What a jaw dropper it would've been for him to tell cramer that hundreds of guys who aren't even economists saw this coming.

Well, as smart and well grounded as Stewart is, I guess even he doesn't know we exist.

Citigroup is insolvent folks.Cramer should be investigated by the SEC for bogus investment advice. So at what level do we go short again?

Stewart went for straight for the jugular(little known fact: it's actually the carotid you want to go for)

When Stewart starting rolling the old Cramer video(which some us of had already seen)I knew this was going to get ugly.

I loved the way, Stewart anticipated Cramer's defense and almost by magic had the next tape ready to impeach his ass.

I would actually be a little worried if I was Cramer given the level of his admissions. His claim that he was "inarticulate" when confronted with the how I screw em section of the video was pure bullshit. That was the only piece where Jon gave him a little slack.

Overall, best smackdown since Robert DeNiro took out the guy that his wife thought was handsome in Raging Bull.

Just like a Shakespeare play we have to rely on the fool (comedian) to point out the truth. What a sad state of journalism in this country when we have to rely on Jon Stewart to say what everyone else is either too crooked or too stupid to say.

"...If it was a fight, it would have been STOPPED..."

Heh.

On second thought , that cunt had every lick coming.

Anyone remember when Maxine Waters, in the opening sentence of a congressional hearing, referred to Smith Barney as Smith Barney Frank.

A stunned assembly burst into laughter. The clueless Waters continued, completely unaware that a mistake had been made or that she was being treated as a laughing stock. This is around the Enron hearing timeframe.

NAILED ITTTTT!!!!!

Best ass whippin' I have ever seen John!! The saddest thing is--WHY does it take a the host of a comedy show-(albiet a BRILLIANT one), to do the questioning that should have been done years ago!?!!!

The mainstream media has FAILED THIS NATION. CNBC is the worst of the worst!!!

Here you have it this Jim guy for year blabbert and blabbert but nothing was ever said about it not.....until he dare speak bad about the "LEADER".
Owned by...., yes the same public ration company for the "LEADER" such as msnbc.
The bloodhounds were sent after Jim. Jon, Keith and Math BUT Jon did bite Jim the hardest and now Jim can stay.

Now that your pal Cramer has been beaten, gang-raped and had his miniscule alleged dick handed to him chopped up like sushi by Jon Stewart and any shred or dignity or professional credibility removed WILL YOU PLEASE NEVER MENTION CRAMER OR USE HIM AS AN AUTHORITY OR A QUOTE HERE?

I feel cheap just talking about it.

But that is the direction S & A Has moved recently.

How about a full expose next on Suze Ormann and what it means to be a Lesbian financial advisor?

Thanks. You're Welcome.

I think Cramer either decided to or was instructed to take his lumps so that the whole thing would go away for CNBC. It was bizarre; Cramer didn't even defend himself. A few points he could have made: 1) none of the MSM saw it coming, why pick on CNBC?, 2) CNBC didn't make the financial markets the way they are, the Wall Street gaming goes on with or without CNBC (a few times Jon Stewart attacked Cramer for Wall Street practices as if Cramer was responsible), 3) Cramer did call the crash, albeit late, but still before most others, when the Dow was at about 10,500, 4) with regard to the CEO's Cramer interviewed - no interviewer totally trashes the VIP, otherwise no one would go on the show (watch the MSM interview politicians - there is a line they won't cross). Now there are counter arguments to the above, but I think it's strange that Cramer didn't raise any of these points to defend himself. Maybe he didn't think of all of this at the time, but I doubt that because he is used to the spotlight and also because he didn't make any of these points on his show the following day.

spot on john stewart...except the populist, poor little homedebtor who got screwed by the evil rich part...great interview.

those poor little me homedebtors who got screwed by the evil rich were lauging and ridiculing me for renting.

Hey Jon, you should have called me many years ago, so I could let you know that the market, politics, your Messiah being a savior, elections, republican x democrats, MSM, etc, ARE ALL A LIE!

Call me next time Jon!

It does seem Mitesh is a strange character. Like his recent post about Bobby Jindal, saying "they come in all sizes and colors", seemingly in a negative way. As if to coax a drunk or stupid righty to say 'So do some posters here', at which time he would have claimed hatred and racism.

Just odd. That's my observation.

>Ron Paul is Right

>People, you are insane. CNBC is in the ENTERTAINMENT business.

Dude, you've got to realize that most people don't know that. We do. They (the average viewer) don't.

Like the bloviating anon, >Parents need to train their offspring...

Lots of good people didn't have informed parents. Jezz.

Nothing to see here. One slimy and highly manipulative joo against a self admitted snake oil salesman type joo who's only concern is his mothers 401k. I remember Stewart crying, literally crying, after 9/11 and then saying that his view of New York was destroyed since his apt. faced the towers. Real classy.

Why do people buy stocks that don't give you dividends? You basically buy ownership of part of a company so you can share in its profits. Seems like a good concept.

What's the point of owning part of a company that doesn't pay you anything? You have to hope that someone else is willing to pay more to own part of that company. That just seems designed to bubbble-pop.

90% short term capital gains tax (including real estate) and 10% tax on dividends seems like it would solve a lot of problems.

This video is great. Stewart really hits home with direct questions to Cramer, who can't defend himself and remains very respectful to Stewart as he's pelted with 2006 video footage.

What could Cramer say?!

Time is near for him to fade into the CNBC network sunset...

Miss Goldbug said...

I want to add....

It appears, Cramer was caught off-guard by Stewarts questions and dialog, thinking perhaps the interview was going to be more comical like his visit on the set of Martha Stewart.

Surprise, Cramer.

John Stewart deserves a metal for his excellent work.

Stewart is just as big a tool as Cramer. I can't believe I used to watch his show all of the time.

Where the fuck was Jon Stewart during the campaign? Oh yeah, he giving Obama head behind the dumpster while Steven Colbert was simultaneously tongueing his asshole.

Fuck both of them.

"I remember Stewart crying, literally crying, after 9/11 and then saying that his view of New York was destroyed since his apt. faced the towers."

911 - I think that I remember that show. I believe that Jon poetically stated that his view of the Towers was replaced by a view of the Statue of Liberty.

Stewert is a hitman for Obama. Where was he all this time?? He does not start questioning untill Santelli and Cramer start complaining about the president's damaging actions. Wake up you sheeple!

Anonymous said...

i'm not such a big fan of j. stewart but he did a great job on cramer. boy, did he look like a fool! he's an empty suit when the most basic questions are asked and accusations leveled at him.

anyone who takes investment advice from cramer is a fool and deserves any downside that may happen.
