Looks like left-wing groups are organizing nationwide "take back the economy" protests for Thursday, March 19. Wake me up if they turn into riots.

"Hey hey, ho ho, Angelo Mozilo has got to go" is cute.

Emulating what's happened in Iceland, Riga, Rome, Budapest and Vladivostok, now THAT is more like it.

Check your city here.

It is cool that they'll be protesting outside of banks, the true enemy. That's what I would have recommended too. And Angelo Mozilo's house and the Federal Reserve HQ of course.

I'm not sure which protests are more likely to turn into riots, left-wingers or right-wingers. I think I'd bet on right-wingers. They're generally more angry and edgy. Let's get Rush Limbaugh's fan base to join these left wingers, step aside and watch the fun.

If you go report back here.

I am surprised we haven't had a McVeih type incident where some disgruntled loner takes down the entire building that houses Goldman Sucks or AIG.

Sure its just like the 60's all over again:

can't I just protest on my desktop? or Twitter my protest?

I don't actually want to have to GO anywhere?

Is there a Starbucks nearby because I don't think I could protest without my latte?

BS when was the last time the "right wingers". became violent?? In america anyways, though it's overdue, the right wingers are mostly only full of bluster.

Anonymous said...

the whiny, art major vegans are protesting?? oh no!! the HORROR!!!!

c'mon.

you won't see crowds when the far right loner hermit gunnuts start protesting, but bankers will still end up on slabs.

Oh boy. With all those angry unemployed folks hanging around with nothing to do but go to a demonstration all day -- this could get ugly.

Keith, I've listened in on the Rush program a little recently.

Believe it or not he's been railing for the last two days about how the AIG execs deserve their bonuses because there is a contract that says so (which for some reason isn't invalidaded by being on the goverment dole), and that it's good, because the rule of law is good, even when it doesn't feel right.

Man, talk about respect for the letter of the law. He even quipped about he pitchfork gang being a bunch of pain-killer popping gay monkeys (kidding on that one). But that is feakin discipline to an insane degree. I don't think it's the right that will be rioting.

*yawn*

American protest are boring.

I want to see more Eurotrash protests, them barbaric bums sure know how to break things.

Anonymous said...

I would like for you to cite instances of conservatives(American right wingers) rioting. This would be a very short list.( maybe 0). Can the same be said for the loony left? I think not.

Anonymous said...

And the next chapter starts. The argument between the right and the left of who has done more politicaly to end this mess.

"We ended it! No, We ended it! Your stupid. Your stupider! Oh yaeh, well your the stupidest!!"

Our country is one disfunctional family. By the way I went on this site and saw that ACORN was on the top of their list for national sponsors. And then I ran back here.

"And Angelo Mozilo's house..."

Protesting outside of someone's house won't do dick. You want to scare other CEOs, you break and enter Mozillo's house, kidnap, torture, and kill him.

Anyone here fed up enough to work up the balls for that? Oh yeah, we all need to....be someplace right now, suddenly.

Maybe Tim McVeigh had the right idea all along. I mean, trying to work through our corrupted political system is a total waste of time. The D.C. pols are nothing but whores spreading their legs for the rich. It's time we show these scumbags we've got other ways of dealing with this crap.

Protesting is an action based on response to something you care about, but it’s not the only response.
Conservatives tend to respond with actions that will result in achievement of something.

Protesting is like riding an excersise bike, you go thru the motions, feeling good that ‘you’re doing something’ but you aren’t really moving forward you are stationary,
It’s like a 2 year old who just got a NO for his Ice cream request and responds with kicking and screaming.

All the ‘global protests’ over the Iraq war, oh the rage, burning American flags etc. did not achieve anything besides reaffirming those who already believed the same way.

IE in Islamic countries there are generally weekly protests about something, population venting on whatever is going on that week, it achieves nothing.

Result oriented individuals are the ones that make a difference in their lives as well as in the lives of others, they do not spend time and energy announcing to the world how they feel each moment = protesting.

So, as always; the left in this country chooses the easy path of shifting responsibility to someone else, now its not there fault and all they have to do is bisy busy around making sings and chanting slogans.

How about build a better Insurance company compete with incompetent AIG and put them out of business?
Answer = you are incapable; all you know how to do is participate in kicking and screaming events.

Those who built AIG (for better or worse) will be the same people who build the next achievement, and the libtards will be there to protest whether they reach success or fail.

Let me guess; you are a Eurotard?

Please enlighten us and explain what exactly Orangezillo has done that is sooo bad.

Has his past company trusted you with a loan?
that would make him stupid but why a death sentence.

Well well well,

How righteous of the Lefties.

Always sure to be there and protect those who want to kill us,
Homicidal maniacs (non US citizens) deserve a ‘fair trial’

But US business men and woman are automatically guilty.

that is funny, ACORN is one of the site's sponsors.

ACORN is part of the problem.

One thing that makes me feel better is baging on Pelosi. I got this wonderful email the other day. Some of you may have heard it. Here it goes:

In a time where so much is being made about our first black president, Ann Coulter made the following observation in her column of 2/25/2009 :

” But as long as the nation is obsessed with historic milestones, is no one going to remark on what a great country it is where a mentally retarded woman can become speaker of the house?”

I know a bunch of ypu are going to jump on me because Ann Coulter said it. Relax about who said it this is some funny shit.

Riots will just be the beginning here of what is to come ... a complete removal of the congressional pigs we've been paying for years, who have done everything in their power to transfer the true wealth of working (primarily middle-class) citizens to the upper few percentage of crooked wealthy.

Positive change is long, long overdue, and it will now becoming to a town near all of us soon.

The problem we are facing is that our enemy is within. It just happens that they are within Washington. The SENATE!!! & the HOUSE!!! They are leading the raping and pillaging of our children’s children tax dollars. They are pushing these bogus and fraudulent plans. They are the ones that have created these lies and perpetuate their existence. You can’t fight city hall so to speak, but you can “VOTE EVERY SINGLE INCUMBANT OUT OF OFFICE” in 2010 that is up for re-election. Do your patriotic duty in the 2010 election please, I am begging you!!!

Blame your self America for what is happening here (maybe not you personally), because your right to vote and your right to kick these clowns out of office were not taken advantage off. As a result these clowns can continue to do what they are doing. Look at the career politicians in Washington that are our biggest problems. The real hacks that are a total waste of space and do nothing for our country. They care about two things. Their pensions and their re-election campaigns and will stop at nothing to keep both. Not in the peoples best interest mind you...

Senators:

Byrd – 48 years!!!
Kennedy – 44 Years!!!
Inouye – 44 Years!!!
Stevens – 38 Years!!
Biden – 30 Years!!
Dodd – 29 Years!
McCain – 23 Years!
Reid – 22 Years!

The average time Senators have been in office is a whopping 13 Years!!!

House:

Dingell – 50 Years!!!
Conyers – 41 Years!!!
Rangel – 35 Years!!
Sarbanes – 35 Years!!
Regula – 33 Years!!
Pelosi – 22 Years!

The average time House members have been in office is a whopping 10 Years!!!

People actually wonder why there are crooked, tainted, lying, sc um bags in Washington. Years of service = good old boy network = tax payers lose.

Many have been in actual Government for much, much longer. These people have been feeding off of the tax payers for so long it is the only way they know how to eat anymore. They have obviously gotten hungrier over the years as well because their consumption of tax dollars has risen dramatically. Now they are simply gorging themselves at our children’s expense.

“VOTE EVERY SINGLE INCUMBANT OUT OF OFFICE” in 2010

These are the folks coming up for re-election in 2010. People DON’T BLOW THIS OPPURTUNITY to right the ship!!!

Most wanted list of people in the Senate that MUST GO!!!

1. Senator Daniel Inouye – Hawaii – 44 year politician and hack!
2. Senator Christopher Dodd – Connecticut – 29 Year politician and hack!
3. Senator John McCain – Arizona – 23 year veteran of a state that is ground zero!
4. Senator Harry Reid – Nevada – 22 Year veteran of a state that is ground zero!
5. Senator Arlen Specter – Pennsylvania – 19 year veteran and a hack!
6. Senator Barbara Boxer – California - 18 year veteran of a state that is ground zero!
7. Senator Russ Feingold – Wisconsin – 17 year veteran and a hack!
8. Senator Chuck Schumer – NY – 10 Year veteran and hack already!

Most wanted list of people in the House that MUST GO!!!

1. I do not think anyone from the list above is up for re-election unfortunately, but still many career hacks that must be booted!

Many more like these career hacks hold office and are up for re-election. Please people get these career hacks out of office this time around.

These are the top officials in Washington stealing from you as you sleep. I understand that NO Republicans voted for TARP 2, but almost everyone voted for TARP 1. Nobody is a good guy anymore and party line politics must end. Be true to yourself and your country and get out their and vote. Your children will thank you someday if you do!! For the sake of our countries future do not let this opportunity pass this time around!!!

they are protesting the wrong people.

we the tax payers are now major shareholders in a lot of these problem corporations (like aig).

We need to be protesting the our elected representatives as they should be the board of directors of these corporations (like AIG).

if i had any balls i coulda doubled my money in BAC over the last few weeks, but instead let me whine about insurance companys and the fraud of care associated with health insurance which eats more than twice as much a year than i personally do in dollar costs. I wonder the "bonuses given to those "carers"

Ha! Gotta love the domesticated crowd who thinks that McVeih did it.

You're being ridiculous. Yes protests often result in no change, but sometimes they end in revolution.

"Those who built AIG (for better or worse) will be the same people who build the next achievement, and the libtards will be there to protest whether they reach success or fail."

Believe it or not he's been railing for the last two days about how the AIG execs deserve their bonuses because there is a contract

Rush is right. There was a provision inside the bailout that protected those bonuses. It was put there by the Democratic Congress and signed by your hero BO. If you don't want bankers to get bonuses, they should have put string in the bailout stating so. Let's stop being naive here, as it's easy to find the real culprits.

A contract should be honored in America, but I guess most of you never took a basic class of Business Law. And no, I'm not a Rush fan, neither a Republican or Democrat. See, I haven't been domesticated like most of you. Now I let you all go back to your wasteful and programed bickering about dualities created only to keep you dumb and divided, while the crooks clean your wallets and civil rights with false flag attacks and engineered economic crisis.

"March 18 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve plans to buy $300 billion in Treasury securities and acquire more mortgage and agency debt in an effort to bolster housing and hasten the end of the recession."

Is this not reason enough to protest?

hmmm when was the last time you saw right-winger on a world scale, protesting against injustice?

Anonymous said...

you had better cool it on your angelo campaign. he might send a couple of goons over to your flat, to have a long talk with you. ha ha

Anonymous said...

Good luck to the protesters, but I was on their site and they have nothing scheduled in Fairfield County, CT, which is kind of like protesting politicians but not going to DC.
May I suggest Wilton, where most of the AIG bonus money is going, as well as Greenwich/Stamford, where over 10% of all hedge fund money is based, along with being home to many financial CEO types.

Anon March 18, 2009 4:54 PM:

Who my mother is isn't relevant to the topic. The point is, standing outside of someone's house with a megaphone and a sign doesn't do anything. Just look in the mirror - when was the last time you were shamed into something?

I will tell you this - I quit paying attention. For example, tax the rich and give everyone a free college education - shamed. Cut taxes and stop social programs - shamed. Pro-choice - shamed. Anti-abortion - shamed. Etc. etc. By the time I was 22 I was done caring what people thought of me.

CEOs spend every day with their rank and file hating them. That is unless they are face-to-face, and then it is all smiles and A-OK. Most CEOs don't start at the top; they know full well that people hate them, because they used to hate the CEO too. They don't care.

I repeat - you want the CEOs attention, you have to kill one or a dozen. Slowly.

"You're being ridiculous. Yes protests often result in no change, but sometimes they end in revolution."

That makes the final act a revolution then, not a protest.

Protests do nothing on their own. Executives and politicians are so out of touch they don't care. I went knocking on my congressman's door about a week ago. As soon as I touched the bailouts he told me to get off his property or he would call the cops.

Think about that. We pay for cops to protect politicians who take more and more of our money. The government is out of control. To take it back, we have to get out of control. The people aren't going to sit down with their political leaders and after a nice chat, turn things around.

Protest if you can! Folks in the Fed and treasury are sucking life out of this country and its citizens and their grand-children.
AIG in itself is a toxic asset . It should have never been rescued. Now we are all liable for AIG backed securities (all trillions of them)

I expect riots within the next 3 months and a major dispute between the US and a major power like China, EU or Russia soon... Mark my words!
