Man, I love seeing stuff like this. Nice job out there in South Carolina. This is the way it should be done.

Eggs are good too. Maybe next time.

Bet Fox News didn't show this one during their coverage, eh?

Ya gotta love the weasels doncha? They can stand up against catcalls, jeers, and boos and still act like they're on your side. Heads on pikes - nothing less....

It sounded like he started to listen to the crowd and respond to the jeers, then decided "Fuck it" and plowed through with his hackneyed stump speech. Like Bobby Jindal gone to the Palmetto State.

Thise tighty-whitey-righties at the Teabag parties needed some seasoned lefty socialist demonstrators to show them what to do. You get a knot of people who pick up the chant of "Go home! Go home! Go home!" in unison and the rest of the hecklers will follow along until he's drowned out. Sheesh, what a bunch of amateurs right-wingers are when it comes to protesting.

Instead of throwing eggs, what about beachballs like the one that floated into the frame about 4 minutes in? That would make great video -- "Congressman pelted with a dozen brightly-coloured beachballs, thrown at him again and again by angry crowd!"

Of course, the best demonstration of disgust is by putting up lawn signs, passing out campaign literature, and knocking on doors on behalf of candidates opposing the incumbents. How many of these hooters in S.C. are going to go to that length?

I'm thinking he may want to give up that running for governor idea.

Good job, SC.

I bet CNN and MSNBC didn't show this either, as it doesn't fit the FoxNews/GOP story they are trying to tell.

Throughout the video: "Go Home!"Brilliant! LOL

What I don't get is why we have politicians with no soul, and no sense of timing, who wouldn't take a moment like this, a golden opportunity, and turn it into something cool.

Here's what I would have said:

"You know what folks, you're right. Screw it. I'm tearing up this god-awful stump speech I was gonna give. There. Now let me tell you what's really going on.

Your Congress has been bribed. Both parties are hopelessly corrupt. Lobbyists have run DC for decades. And now you're all paying the price.

Some of my fellow current and former colleagues should be investigated, starting with Chris Dodd, Phil Graham and Barney Frank. The corruption goes to the highest levels though folks, and that's why Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi won't launch an investigation - they're afraid of where it will go.

We've lost trillions of your dollars these past few years, because we were bribed to look the other way. We installed Goldman Sachs to look over our Treasury, and we got robbed. George Bush and my party have taken America to the brink of ruin. And all of you are fools if you think standing there in that field shouting at me is gonna do a lick.

Now if you really want change, you're gonna need to get to DC. You and millions like you are gonna need to march on the Capitol. You're gonna need to barge into the house and senate office and take them over. There's gonna have to be some serious civil disobedience. That's what it's gonna take. Bunch of y'all shouting here ain't gonna do nothing.

But if you do want change, if you do want the guilty investigated and held accountable, then join me in DC on July 4th, and we'll march together to Harry Reid's office, until he and Pelosi agree to investigate. We'll yell from the top of our lungs there, where it matters. We'll chain ourselves to the white house gates if we need to.

So are you with me? Are you with me?"

Something like that. Dude missed a golden opportunity. Because he's a monkey. Because America elects monkeys.

Really ,both parties have sold American down the tubes . The problem is that all the damage will be done before the people can kick out all the current Politicians. Why do you think the
Politicians moved so fast and screamed "FIRE" in a movie house.

It's to late ,they funded the TARP money and all the other programs will and been passed with minor concessions.

Can't really blame the American people for getting organized to late because the Treasury and the Feds and the bought off Politicians lied to them about Tarp and all the other investment class buy outs .

The bailouts is one of the biggest obstruction of justice cases in history ,along with the looting of the public coffers .They should of let it crash and burn and than grant restitution to parties that were true victims. This is all about gambling and fraud/greed and the bagholders not wanting to take the hit .
The Powers will do everything in a way that by the time the American people figure it out it's to late .

Teabags and Tea Parties are a tepid reaction to a more searing reality -- we are being *royally screwed* without lubrication.

Maybe we should be sending empty Vaseline jars to our political 'representatives'...

What we're dealing with is not so much a taxation issue, but a THEFT issue -- the PTB have gamed the legislative process to such an extreme that they have effectively LEGALIZED THEFT!

And while they've maxed-out the amount of loot they can *legally* purloin within the constraints of a hollowed-out, bankrupt economy, they have *chosen* to burden future generations to pay for this ensuing raid on the Treasury -- with only token resistance from our 'elected' representatives.

We, and future generations, have been sold down the river by a co-opted CONgress.

Instead of allowing this trickle-down looting to continue, we must use existing legal infrastucture to attack this gross injustice being perpetrated upon us and our *voiceless* offspring.

SUE THE BASTARDS!!

This nonsense of "Tea Parties" is just the prelude of what's really coming done the line ... Pelosi, Dodd, Frank, Mozillo and the rest being dragged down the streets by their $4,000 hair styles.

Payback will be a b*tch ... there is no stopping it now.

Even though I would like to see pitchforks and torches, this is a good rally.

Future rallies need to denounce politicians from both sides. Don't let the GOP snake their way in.

Fuck Republicans

Fuck Democrats

Everyone should withrdaw all monies from the bad banks and put them into the conservative banks that don't need a bailout. Can Washington fund that run on the banks? Lets them try. This is the only thing to make these scumbag organizations fail...

Who would have thought that McCain would be providing the leadership the Republicans need now? Megan McCain, that is...seems like she is a breed of new Republicans that "gets it".

http://news.aol.com/article/meghan-mccain-gop-civil-war/434547

The 24-year-old daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain pushed back against critics upset over her comments to CNN that she wanted President Obama to succeed, and played down her recent headline-grabbing feuds with conservative commentators Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. "I did not expect my frustration with what I perceive to be overly partisan and divisive Republicans to cause a national incident," she said.

"I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes…I think we're seeing a war brewing in the Republican Party," she said. "But it is not between us and Democrats. It is not between us and liberals. It is between the future and the past

"I am concerned about the environment. I love to wear black. I think government is best when it stays out of people's lives and business as much as possible. I love punk rock. I believe in a strong national defense. I have a tattoo. I believe government should always be efficient and accountable. I have lots of gay friends. And yes, I am a Republican," she told a cheering crowd.

What I don't get is why we have politicians with no soul, and no sense of timing, who wouldn't take a moment like this, a golden opportunity, and turn it into something cool.Have you met many politicians, Keith? I have. Some of them are really farking stupid -- basically actors, whose role is to convincingly emote lines that fulfill the image of noble politico. Some are ideologues on particular subjects like abortion. You see how some commenters have what we call "fixed ideation" in the psych nursing business -- ideas that are stuck in their heads like nervous tics and they can't get past them? Some politicians are no different.

Far more pollies are just shrewd tacticians. They know what to say, who to support, what votes to cast, in order to get more money and please the patrons who put them in power. But they don't have any "Big Picture" vision. They're players, not leaders.

If they were "Big Picture" guys, they probably wouldn't have gotten where they are. Anyone with principles wouldn't make the dirty deals and compromises needed to stay in power. If they persisted in being true to their beliefs, they'd piss off the power-brokers, who would run opposition candidates to knock them off.

It's all fucked. Put your head down, batten your hatches and keep your popcorn dry.

Keith! But then with that kind of speech (a great one though) you'd be shred to pieces by lobbyists! You'd be vilified and made to look like public enemy #1. Those few who dared stand up for the people are no longer in Congress! Most are now jobless and some of them contracted some strange ailment and died silently. Meanwhile, the swindlers have been bankrolled into Congress and the executive branch. They now make rules and enforce them to the detriment of the people. The power of the people has been usurped, and, although your speech makes a lot of sense, it will get you nowhere!
Sorry! But I am feeling down these days, and I don't even know why!!..

Nice video - thanks Keith.

I'm so disappointed in the level of discourse allowed on the so-called news channels. It's revolting. Now that the Republicans are out of power Fox News is, funny enough, the place to go for the truth (at least compared to CNN and MSNBC). Here is my full response to the tea party bashing: http://soyouthinkyoucaninvest.blogspot.com/2009/04/janeane-garofalo-on-tea-parties.html

Good speech Keith, but I'd have added two more lines. At the very end he says:

IS YOU IS MY CONSTITUENCY???
I SAID, IS YOU IS OR IS YOU AIN'T MY CONSTITUENCY???

And I suppose if someone brokeout throwing rotten vegetable at him they'd have been arrested.

We need to repeal that law. :)
