Senator Chris Dodd: Goodbye, and good riddance

A miserable failure.

A corrupt politician.

And now on his way out the door.

Goodbye, and good riddance.

One down. 99 to go.

One down, 97 more to go. (I'm leaving Russ Feingold and Bernie Sanders off my political "wish-hit" list.)

Awesome news. Hopefully Schiff wins that seat. I was hoping for a violent, very public demise to this SOB, but this is still a WIN.

This person has helped to ruined many lives while enriching himself and his buddies. His retirement will be nice and cozy. People like him are devoid of any conscience, morality or ethics. They are God-less, soul-less empty shells who will ultimately receive their punishment. I agree that one is down and 99 more to go.

Epic Fail.

This is horrid news, and I HATE Dodd. All Chris Dodd retiring does is ensure that another corrupt bankster sympathizing democrat will win that seat instead of Peter Schiff.

Damn these grifters are good!

Dodd Knows that the U.S. Banking System will not survive the current crises. He is one of the main perpetrator that cause the economic meltdown. The financial economic system of this country will crash, he is running away from it like GreenSpan did!

F**KING COWARD!

Knows he hasn't a chance,

so he say's he won't seek re-election

I'm guessing the DNC saw that train a comin' and asked him to go. Five terms though--30 freaking years of graft.

Bukko is right, we should keep Bernie and Feingold, just like we keep Ron Paul & Kucinich in the '10 purge.

Although the FBers are still flowing with ‘Oil and Gold will go up forever’ wind,
serious cracks in the financial stability of the EU (Greece, Iceland, Germany, Ireland, France the UK already broker then broke)
will definitely shift winds towards the greenback.

Useless shiny yellow metal and severe erosion on ‘real demand’ for fossil fuels.
All add up to deflation.

One of the things that gave HP an edge over the masses in relation to ‘real housing value’ was our questioning the ‘experts/ realwhores and MSM’ when down in the trenches common sense said that us regular folks with decent incomes could not afford the house and the numnut earning less then we do took on a $750k mortgage and a $50k car.
I don’t need to remind you all of all the insane rationales provided by the ‘experts’ from ‘rates are historically low’ to foreigners are grabbing up all the available property to ‘pent up demand’ outpacing the speed at which builders can build etc.

Lets take a look at how similar things are today in relation to the herd running and tripping over each others in buying Oil and Gold.

So an honest view from down in the trenches without all the noise.

Do any of us have ‘more dollars’ then we did say 2 years ago?
Do companies have more dollars then they had?
Do local municipalities have more dollars?
Do charity organizations have more dollars?
Nope..

Even China cannot possibly have more dollars today then it had when people re-did their kitchens or converted their basements as crappy mini theaters.

And the truth is neither does the federal gov nor do banks, that is why they are all scrambling to ‘raise cash’.

But but the ‘fed is printing all that money’?????
Simple = ‘all that money’ does not even come close by a mile to the amount of fake money (numbers on spreadsheets – aka credit) that was leveraged against housing and everything else.

Most still do not understand what caused the housing bubble; hence don’t understand what caused it to crash..

The same FBers are now touting similar rationales for Oil and Gold

“the FED.. the Elite underground bankers…are throwing dollars out of helicopters!!!”
“proof that there are dollars everywhere, look at the gigantic bonuses the corporate execs are all getting”

“Blah blah Housing will go up forever blah blah they aren’t making anymore land blah blah”

“Blah blah China and India are quadrupling their demand for oil every day blah blah” (oh is that why all the car companies are barley surviving cause they are selling gazillions of gas guzzlers to China and India?)

“Blah blah Gold has been used for centuries as a reliable currency balh blah” and round stones were used as a reliable weapons for centuries and stars were used as reliable navigators for centuries and horses and donkeys were used as reliable modes of transportation for centuries..

Sure eventually there will be inflation,
for the immediate future it will be deflation.

I believe the coming economic collapse of Europe will shed a lot of light on things

For now the fed is pushing on a string and the conspirators are thriving in an environment with fewer dollars.

Keith, when you were in UK, did you see any effect upon the lending and housing markets in 2009that were tied to the Bank of China offering mortgages there for property?
http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/banking_and_finance/article6727253.ece

I'm concerned over this. As if it isn't bad enough that our politicians are beholden to U.S. banking giants, can you imagine how bad it would be if asshats such as Dodd became beholden to large Chinese banks?

Smug Bastard

Keith, I thought of you immediately when I heard this news earlier. Yipee!

We as a nation have two failing political parties. Both have lost their way and both do not represent the liberty and freedom of what made this country a great place.
So the sheeple will continue to follow one or the other all while 90 percent of them simply follow with the same visionary fallacies that both parties provide. Bush was a liar and a thief. Obama is proving the same. Ron Paul has been dead on in his assessment that there is really no difference from one administration to the next. The only difference is the ball goes to the opponent and the next team is in the offensive while the other switches to defense.
While I hate Dodd and love to see the asshole go, we will simply get another asshole, unless Schiff can win.
Why do I support Ron Paul? No one is leading a movement that shows that there is really no difference between the two parties except for him.
1. No one is showing that both parties are deeply rooted in Keynesian economics and therefore both will fail miserably. The Fed must go down.
2. Both parties are war parties, and Obama has not just inherited a war, he has now embraced it when he could very well be ending it. There really is no difference in war from one administration to the next.
3. Neither parties are interested in balancing budgets and shows the biggest disrespect to the sheeple that vote for them.

"I was hoping for a violent, very public demise to this SOB, but this is still a WIN."

What makes you think a violent, public demise is no longer an option for these asshats? Look at what is happening with the protests in Iceland - they're about one year ahead of us here in the USA.

Probably more than a schoolteacher makes in a lifetime.

Yeah, but Sanders did all that rushing before he got old and turned white and moved to Vermont!

And Yoski, IIRC the Repubes in Tennessee are trying to deep-six Bunning in the primaries because he doesn't play the corporate game. But anyone who could throw a screwball like that...
