The spades don't like it too much when you call a spade a spade, right to the spade's face.

I can't stand both parties. 'nuff said.

But on this never-ending healthcare debate, isn't it clear who's for the insurance companies and who's against them?

Bravo to Anthony Weiner for getting up and calling the republicans out for being insurance company bitches. I wonder why they objected? Just stating fact. Just like the GOP could stand up and call the democrats a wholly owned subsidiary of the trial lawyers. Again, just stating fact.

Should be good political theatre Thursday. Meanwhile, the US healthcare "system" is a joke.

Every special interest group buys as many politicians as they can afford. That's not surprising. What is surprising is the fact that retarded (I know Palin loves that word) Americans keep on voting for those same politicians. So they get what they voted for. The loyalty of the American sucker to the person that fleeces him is awe inspiring.

To paraphrase Churchill, US Healthcare system is the worst...after all the others.

Seen the latest on the NHS in Britain? Come on.

The healthcare is OK, it's the paying for it part that's a mess. The reason the system is a mess is because of third party payers. Their proposed "solution" will only make the problem worse.

Also...there are simply too many people who are not paying their own way in life and have been trained to expect others to pay for them. That mentality (promoted by the Dems) is the source of most of the problems in America. It's morally bankrupt, and it's bankrupting the nation.

SO the Repubs want to maintain the status quo for the insurance companies...

And the Dems want to increase their profits buy FORCING everyone in the nation to buy their products.

Keith, i love you like a play cousin, but really why even bring this up? They are all COPRATIST WHORES! Including your boy Obama.

The man sold us out to the bankers when all he had to do was exercise JFKs standing executive order and issue silver notes to replace FED Reserve notes. All the banks would have liquidated the bad debt and we'd be over this shit already. The man had an 80% approval rating don't tell me he couldn't have done it.

That would have saved the nation!

But instead he obeyed his Wall Street masters. He also bullshitted us on at least calling a cease fire in the drug war and now he's blowing up Afghan ids for no good reason.

Keith you know I'm not a troll so please respond. What makes you think Obama is better than if McCain had won and we'd have total gridlock between him and a Dem congress (In other words GOV couldn't do anymore damage)???

The trial lawyers meme is just a false dichotomy created for political purposes (because everyone hates lawyers and lawsuits.) In order for a free market/Randian system to function you can't advocate both a lack of gov't oversight and limiting the compensation available to those wronged. If you do, things are tilted in the providers' favor and we're right back to moral hazard again: an unnecessary death for you becomes and acceptable operating cost for them. It's litigation or regulation --citizens must have protection one way or the other.

Actually, he should have added that the Democrats are a mostly owned subsidiary of the insurance industry. Why else do you think that "Health Care Reform" became "Health Insurance Reform" all of the sudden?

Even if you have insurance, if you are middle class, a serious illness can leave you bankrupt. (The poor will get help and the rich have it covered - it's the middle class that loses.)

Then there is the whole Long Term Care insurance debate. What if you can't afford years and years of paying for that? If you do manage to pay for it, will insurance oompanies really pay out if a lot of insured start dying off at once?

If you don't have it, you will likely lose everything when you die. If you are middle class, your house is probably your biggest asset. If you spend much time in a nursing home before you die and run out of money paying for it, for it, the state will put a lien on your house for the balance. I believe that when you die, the house must be sold to square up with them. (Seems like a lot of baby boomers are in that situation - might add a lot of houses to the market in the next few years.)

As long as they are debating health care, I wish they would change this so that middle class people wouldn't have to sacrifice everything they have ever worked for when they get seriously ill or die. It would be nice if they could at least leave their offspring a place to live.

Why are poor uneducated people from the South against health care reform? When they have no healthcare today?

Why do poor uneducated people from all over the nation vote for the interests of corporations, bankers, insurance companies and the rich?

One word.

Genius.

The GOP (and Fox News and right wing radio via Karl Rove and Rupert Murdoch) fooling idiots with religion and patriotism was frankly genius.

Because without it, they'd be a 5% party.

All I know is the government so far is not helping any situation in healthcare. The debate is a cluster fuck of people being bribed and payed to say what they are. This whole debate is a cluster fuck, so why would we expect the outcome to be any different.

The issue I have is that Washington in general is speaking from a point of view that they are just getting into the healthcare sector. The bottom line is they have been screwing with it for the last 50 years.

The federal government has not proven to be capable on much, so why do they think they would do any better with this.

The bottom line is if any of these people, from the current or last administration or congress, showed up at my office door looking for a job right now, I wouldn't hire them. So I sure as hell don't want them doing anything in regards to healthcare.

It does not necessarily follow that those against a government run system are for the insurance industry.

Additionally, you assume that there should not even be a "healthcare system."

And, that dude from NY is an utter and complete doosher. He should be thrown out for those types of comment - they do nothing.

Finally, never go full retard.

HAHAHAHA!!!

Pretty broad application of the "educated," arrogant and elitist brushstroke, no?

WTF happened to you - seriously, how the hell did you go from being a staunch Ron Paul supporter to supporting Obama and the Dems?

Keith, 75% of Americans oppose this bullshit health care legislation. They are not all Fox news watching, bible thumping, cigar smoking Republicans. Obama fooled the American people once with the bank bailouts, and they're not giving him a second shot.

Keith it’s the same reason my southern brethren fought for slavery rights for plantation owners that lowered their own living wages/standard and so were giving their lives to be no more than serfs and slaves themselves. The fighting scotch irish, my people, are the most ignorant and yet most idealistic of peoples.

Wow Keith... i guess if I'm not the guy from Australia i don't qualify for even a shout out LOL

Well then let me just reiterate FUCK the DEMS they are just as in bed as the Republicans and they both want inflaton and government spending.

Since I'm not a Union member I'll vote the party that let's me keep more of my money. ESPECIALLY here in Kalifornia...

And like I said i love you bro but when the next down in this W recession hits maybe even you will see Obamy is Carter for a new generation. One and done. And the financial chaos will sort it self out on the backs of the uneducated masses you so gleefully mock.

For the most part i could give 2 shits about them anyways. The dumb are holding back the human race...

Off of the top of my publicly-educated head: the military, NASA, the Interstate Highway System, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, the CDC, the Postal Service, the US flood control system, FEMA, the National Park System, the Panama Fucking Canal for crying out loud!

Government at its best handles those things which are too big or too important to be left to the market. Have you ever gotten malaria in the US? Of course not! Guess why (I'll give you a clue: it's not because Bobby Jindal is out in his canoe with his neighbors killing mosquitoes.)

"Gov't doesn't work" is nonsense. Governments exist for a reason.

Maybe it's becaus Keith moved to one of the many civilized countries where EVERYBODY in the nation gets health care. He sees how it can be done. It's a nice thing, a country that cares enough about the people who live there that it tries to keep its citizens alive. Remember the question Michael Moore asked in the "Sicko" movie: "Is America a "we" nation or a "me" nation?" Lots of countries answered "We."

When you live in America, your imagination gets stunted. It's easy to think that the natural thing in society is to say "Screw you if you're old, or crippled, or crazy, or poor. You can just go die if you get sick." But that's not natural. That's bloody Third World.

I can't speak for Keith, but I don't like this "health insurance company protection" legislation. I hope it fails. Not because I agree with the Republican position of "We have to do NOTHING so we can make Obama look bad." I dislike the legislation because it's a fascist approach of forcing people to buy BS health "insurance" from ripoff private corporations, or the government will penalize you. I'd rather see full-on socialized medicine, like I have experienced in Australia and Canada. It works great.

Where I agree with Keith is that the Repiglickin approach of "If you're poor, go die" is a bad idea. Too bad so many Americans are suckers for bad ideas. Enjoy the dieoff. Rich people will be laughing as you croak.

I don't like the meme of "health care is expensive because of insurance companies!". It's nonsense. Profit margin for wellpoint is like 3%. 85% of money goes to pay claims.

Healthcare is expensive because when YOU get sick you DEMAND top dollar unlimited expense care.

In Europe they have set budgets...if they can't afford it, they don't pay it.

Like my friend in Canada says "Canada has the best healthcare in the world, as long as you're not really sick". For that they go to the evil USA.

Where in the constitution does it say that insurance companies are evil? No competition? Yeah, that's why they're "gouging" with a 3% profit margin.
